Too much light??

Ive got a 600w hps in a 3x2x6 closet with five 2 week old plants. The temps never get above 80c but the plants look like they are being bleached by the light, is it possible to have too much light? Ive already ruled out a nute/ph problem and i cant think of what else it could be. Im thinking of maybe putting a screen above the plants to cut down on the light reaching the plants and see if this helps. any ideas?
:peace:

I just found this from International Cannagraphic Magazine Forums - The Complete guide to Sick Plants,pH, and Pest troubles!

"This picture is what light bleaching/ light burn looks like.

Only way to fix this is to Move the lights away from the plant!
Or make sure you dont go over 75 watts a sq foot, or your plant will have to much light and light bleaching can occur anywhere on the plant. (indica species seem to bleach easier than sativas imo.)"

apparently there is a think as too much light...

Just lather your lady up in some spf 30.She'll be good to go!

Seriously though 400 watt hps ,as long as your 1.5 -2 feet away from the plant and your temps arent to high you should be aight!:peace:

how far should a 1000 hps be from top of plants? With just a batwing reflector.Im getting alot of yellowing on top half.No burning and hairs are looking good in bud, room at 60 at night and 75-80 during day

he did say they're only -2 weeks- old. dude, they are just babies. you could put that light on the ceiling and they'd be getting plenty of it. you could just be using a 4' flourescent fixture right now. i'd keep that thing like 3 feet away from them.
