Too small to top?

My little baby has finally surpassed the 5 node mark, which I believe is a common benchmark when judging whether or not to top. The plant will also be 1 month old tomorrow. The thing is I feel like my plant is unusually short. Should I let it grow taller before I top?

Was planning on mainlining if that matters much.

I believe 2L pot. It is just about time to repot, should I do that first and then wait? Also yeah there's a bit of nute burn, soil too hot since I haven't even fed her yet :?

Dont make the same mistake i have done and have now had to rectify and use too small a pot to start off with. I transplanted out a pot which looks the same size as yours last night into a larger 17 litre smart pot . It was root bound after 6 weeks in that size of pot, transplant into a bigger pot and save yourself the trouble i have had, which includes a smaller size at 4 weeks similar to yourself. What nutes are you using and what is your nute to water ratio? The reason i am asking is that i was underfeeding due to being over cautious with organic nutes and only feeding 1ml/litre when really the plant was needing 2/3ml per litre. It resulted in similar colouring of the leaves like yours, it wasn't in fact nute burn burn lack of nutes.

You could fill your next pot your going to transplant into with the soiland then give it a good watering with plain water and leave it to sit for a few days to let the ecosystem establish in it, then transplant it in. That way it will reduce the pre fertiliser levels of the soil in your bigger pot

Okay. I actually just got my 3gal smartpot yesterday. So I guess I'll repot and wait a week for it to adjust to it's new home and then top?

I would go straight into a 5gallon smart pot. Where are you from? The gallons on smart pots are american gallons ( 3 litres ) so you will want a 5gallon smart pot which in america works out at 17litres. The UK gallon is up around the 5 litre mark.

I transplanted and FIM'd the same night...Doesnt look like its done any damage. But i never had time to wait....so you could repot and leave it a few days until some of the water has evaporated off and it has settled a bit and then top. Just what i would do from reading alot of info on the forums.

HMMMM.i just read about this wonder soil. it is an expanding coco coir based soiless medium. it is enriched with all natural nutes that are supposed to last from seedling to harvest. No sir, I just don't like it for myself.

I am sure this product will grow cannabis. But, it seems like a MG product to me and I prefer to know what and when I am giving my gurlz...just the control freak in me.

Anyway, I am of the opinion that topping time can be anytime the grower sees fit. I topped one of my current gurlz after 6 days and the second after 8 days. I had all sorts of people telling me it was way too early, that it would stunt their growth...one even said I may as well dump them and start again....they are both very healthy and have been topped multip;le times since.

However, all that being said...my immediate thought for you is to transplant to a much bigger and better mixed medium. If you do not want to change mediums I would suggest adding about 30% perlite to the wonder soil, wait a week to 10 days to let her recover from transplant and then top.

I'm in the US. I'm doing a micro grow and the 5gal pots are just too big to fit in my growing area, so the 3gal will be the final pot.
I have two 5 gallon smart pots in a 20" x 36" tent but 3 will work too....just don't let then get too huge.

Yeah the wondersoil seemed like a good buy at first, but I'm quite certain it's too strong. I'll be cutting it with washed coco coir and perlite when I repot, maybe like 40WS, 30 perlite, 30 coco.

I bought the soil after watching this youtube video
This guy makes a lot of gardening videos on youtube and is generally well recieved. And TBH wondersoil is probably pretty great and the ingredient list (found here) has some pretty great stuff in it but also lists "ORGANIC MIXED RELEASE FERTILIZER" and "COMBO SLOW & QUICK RELEASE FERTILIZERS" which seems sort of vague and "miracle-gro-esque"
