Top Dressing Potassium?

What do you think is the best way to add Potassium after your plants have been potted for a while. I'm not currently lacking K, but I'm trying to prepare myself for the chance of needing to add some during flowering.

It's outdoor organic garden. Here's a link to my Grow Log for more information. https://www.rollitup.org/grow-journals/350335-agent-2010-organic-outdoor.html

I was thinking of possibly getting rock potash and top dressing with it so it will slow release during flowering. Any opinions

THANKS!

I'm just wondering if the rock potash might be a bit too slow for a top dressing.

Kelp meal might be a better choice, but even that isn't going to be fast.

Liquid kelp or a seaweed extract might be the best bet if you run short of K during flowering.

Thanks for the reply.

In regards to the rock potash. Do you think if was to top dress in the the next week or two, which will still give me about 2-3 solid weeks of veg before flowering, It would be accessible by about the second to third week of flowering. A total of 5-6 weeks. If you still think no, Please let me know, I just wanted to say this as I didn't really specify in my first post. I'm not very well versed on how Rock Potash works.

Kelp meal would be awesome, but when I say I called and looked everywhere, I mean EVERYWHERE. Some of my local shops didn't know what I was talking about. Maybe I'm a little too far mainland? One shop, HTG Supply, had the kelp meal but it was in an extract form. They wanted 20 dollars for an 8oz. container. Every time I water the garden it takes about 50 gallons of water, I don't know how far those 8oz. containers would go, but it doesn't like like it would go very far.

When I mixed my soil up and let it "cook", I watered with liquid karma, fish emulsion, and seaweed extract. After that I watered every now and again with the Fish & Seaweed emulsion in hopes to bring the K up. Maybe I should just get another bottle, and keep watering with that?

Any feed stores in the area? Kelp meal is fed to farm animals for good health and the feed stores usually have it.

If you have that amount of time, go ahead and top dress with the potash AND snag some more of the seaweed extract 'just in case'.

Kelp extract ain't cheap, but $20/8oz bottle is over twice what it normally sells for. That's a flat rip-off!!

Ok thanks for the advice. I don't want to blast HTG or anything, but honestly, their in store prices are ridiculously high. One thing I got to give them though, they have a huge selection of their overpriced items. :-|

I would say you may be a good candidate to make my Russian Comfrey fert, which is rich in K. Click the link.

COOL!!! I've experimented with dock and yarrow extracts this year, but this is new to me. I really like the idea of being truly organic and self reliant by making your own fertilizers. This will be something I definitely have to look into. I'm not sure if it's going to help me this year, but cool none the less. I just wish comfrey grew here, I've read about it being an amazing fert plenty of times.

try mountainroseherbs.com I think is the website.
You can get powdered kelp meal for fairly cheap, the shipping is high though as it costs as much to ship as it does to buy it.
If you bought more than a pound of it, the shipping might not be as bad.
