Thought I would add to this great site a lesson learned about top feed drip irrigation.
My system consisted of a 350gph pond pump, 1/2 tubing 1" long, and a 8 port adjustable head. At first I ran the watering 15 minutes every 4 hours, towards the end of veg I noticed signs of under watering. I then turned it on full time. Know into flowering it seemed I just could not get enough water on them and I was having to clean out the head unit constantly. ( 4 or 5 times a day) Today I got rid of the head unit and punched directly with the 1/4 hoses and a barb and wow the flow rate tripled at least and after an hour the plants are back to normal. I am starting to see the advantage to dwc as the roots have extended into the reservoir some but not completely and dwc seems like it owuld be easier to keep them hydrated with out messing with pumps and stuff. I really had a problem yesterday when I changed the nutes and increased to max ppms for flowering. Just another long story when testing some new meds but hey if it saves someone else soem trouble then good!!
