Topping, And cooling my water ?

Ok so i have done 4 grows now, 3 indoor and 1 outside, the 3 plants i have grown indoors have all been really Bushy and i have lost alot of buds because they were inside the plant all covered by leaves, im just wondering if you get the same yield if i dont top them so they will grow more upright alowing light onto the lower buds, i have 4x 400w Grolux bulb.

Also, i have a major problem cooling my res, im growing in DWC and im using bottles of frozen water to keep them cool, i use around 4-6 bottles of frozen water per plat per day, this is going to be my last grow for a while so a chiller is not a option, i have my res insulated with silver insuation, silver tape all round the top the res has 40l of water in, so its alot of water to keep cool, i wanted to no if my air pump would still work if i put it in the freezer so it will blow freezing air into my res ???

has anyone else done this ?

I top all my plants, but i also tie them down, topping just makes more long branches, you still gotta tie them down to spread them apart, and let light in. i also cut off some fan leaves (FEW) that cover up the inside of the plant, and fuck up air flow. FEW: not from the outsides. mainly bottom and inside. i also trim off a few branches that go in the middle of the plant, so its more like a crown of pot, instead of just a bush.


cooling water: dont get it so hot. what temp is it at? and why? the reservoir shouldnt be close to anything that heats it.

Its not near any heat source other then the lights, i dont have cool shades beacuse i dont want the actual room temprature to drop, the water is changing we put ice in and it goeS DOWN TO 18c and will rise rapidly All the way upto 25c if we let it, were fighting a losing battle ?

will my air pump work in a freexzer ?
