Ive topped my plants at right around node 4 got 2 nice shoots coming up the two bottom are still stragglers. Ive been debating with my buddy about how many times we should top and it the once will be enough once we bend them down etc. I'd like to go for w.e is the easiest on the plant and obviously will come out with a better end flower.

If your trying to make a bush keep topping. Personally I hate trimming so I go for an 8 cola "mainline" topping/bending

I've always topped my plants . In the beginning it was a way to
keep my plants from being seen as easily if I hadn't topped them. It was a fluke the way I learned about topping. In one of my early grow attempts a limb from a nearby tree fell on one of my plants and broke the top out and I observed the way that plant grew as compared to the others that didn't get broke. So the following year I purposely pinched the top out of more and have been doing so routinely for about 4 decades. I no longer grow outside but still top all my inside plants.....it's mostly for better light coverage now !

Nice gained some good knowledge outta a bad situation, being vigilant grower definitely pays off I noticed i missed topping 1 of my super silver hazes out of 10 the 1 I didnt touch is the darkest green like its getting plenty of nitrogrn whereas the topped ones have a lighter tint. I assume its from the plant putting more energy into more shoots on the others? No other control other than the top i can see being a variable. Oldtimer you wouldnt happen to have a limit per say on tops or is it really up to how you want to manipulate. My partners fear is topping too many times will become flimsy and much smaller nugs. Me on the other hand prefer not ti have a massive cola to risk mold though would be a sight to see being first outdoor grow.

so that would be 2 tops am icorrect 1 gave me 4 plus wme can grow uo through or do u just top and manipulate branching to trick the next into catching up and just stay on top of it? I pulled down 2 of my clones that were just a branch hoping to get more main shoots next week or so

The one on the right is the one i missed topping. Too many plants lol but you can see the darkness and much broader leaves. Im wonderin if next time i should hold out in topping until a later node ti let the plant establish itself
