Well i took the plunge last night and topped one of my plants. I waited till the plant reached 6 true nodes and then topped it.

Let me know if this looks correct.........here they are
There is no wrong way to top, except regarding the new output you hope to get. How many nodes are left?

Looks great, I like to top mine at the third node so I have nice beefy clones that I can take off the first set, while still maintaining 4 main colas.

i was actually reading that right before i topped thats why i wanted to have some opinions on it.

and if the top is to high can i go back after 24 hrs and remove what is left
You can top as much as you want!

As long as you keep your plant nice and healthy it will survive A LOT of clipping. Your plants look nice so you can do it!

If you look in my grow journal (in my signature) the 2 larger plants have been topped 3 times now and growing strong.

I love topping and pruning my plants! I try to get them clipped and trimmed to fill out my grow space evenly. Sometimes the plants can get away from you though, especially during flowering. I try not to clip during flower but sometimes I have to because I would rather the plant get all the light it needs to in the right areas.

Sometimes you have to suck it up and sacrifice part of the plant so that the rest of it will thrive.

Keep in mind some people completely disagree with me but this is the way I like to grow :)

I hear ya and there are so many different ways to go about it. I have seen so many methods and ways to get 2 and 4 main colas. My goal is atleast 2 and to control the plant in the environment i have created.

You are correct, i have been really luck with the health of these plants. at first i was like i am never gonna get this right....i then found the sweet spot for the plants and they took off

I have 2 questions for you:

1) If I intend to cut clone from a flowering plant how many weeks in 12/12 should I take cuttings?

2) If I intend to lollipop my plant which is already in 12/12 in which week should I cut off the lower 1/3 branches? (as soon as my clones have established root they are transferred straight to 12/12, no veg time).

Big myth.

Learn about light saturation points.

Less is more,

I can see what you mean, less you have the harder the plant fights for them. Leaving little growth in imortant areas.

All together i have about +/- 7800 lumenson them and they love it.

I do have one more question. On the new lower growth, is it possible to remove some of that to change the focus of the new growth?
