that is neat you can see the bottom node on the upside down plant has undergone more growth than the bottom node on the other one. It looks like they have about the same amount of leaves, but the topsy turvy plant is growing larger and faster.

Excellent deduction, Watson. Maybe I can shed a bit of light on this one...

Judging from the pictures, all his plants are fresh from seed. And when plants are from seed, they have a tendency to grow more uniform and less bushy. Because of this, the natural canopy of the leaves blocks the lower nodes from getting sufficient light, thereby reducing their growth rate. However, the topsy turvy plant is getting light from a slightly different angle, allowing for the rays to penetrate the lower nodes.

It's like a batch of seedlings I had not to long ago.... Out of 8 seeds, I topped two of them and a very young age. The non-topped 6 went on to grow around 12 inches tall, with the lower nodes growing maybe an inch or two. The lower node growth of the two topped ones, however, was almost equivalent to the height of the plant. This happened because when I topped them, the canopy grew differently, allowing for the light to penetrate further down.

All and all, I'm diggin' this topsy turvy experiment.

Wow awesome I've been wanting one of these things for a while now. Don't think I'll use it for mj and don't think I'll be using it inside either. I bet outside with mj they would flourish.

hahahhaha hey am i stupid or does anyone else think it would be cool to have a room with some topsy turvys hanging from the ceiling and then a fat sog on the ground and plants hanging on the wall and then a couple 1000 watt lights with no hoods to light it all up

That sounds like a fucking great idea. Kinda like Heath's vertical grows. That would be freaking awesome right there. But think of all the water that would get spilled all over the plant though....... only downfall right there.

It's supposed to bend upward like that...then, when it's heavy with "fruit"....the branches start growing down again. I plant tomatoes in those things every year! I've been dying to test out MJ outside in one. Way to go!

I can see these things hanging in the forest all over the place.... No Deer solution..
gotta hang them higher but that'd be a bitch to water. or could put up mesh wire fastened to the tree underneath the plant and in front like a little cage but leave the top open so you can water. could probably do a rad scrog especially with the way it vegges in one main direction.
sorry for the rambling, I'm pretty high :eyesmoke:
