Total dark for 1-2 days helps speed up flowering?

looking at different questions and advice on this site, i still cant work out if this is a good idea or not..

i use femanised seeds.. can the sex still be affected during this process...

is this a good idea...what do you do..

That is debateable. Some say going 36 hrs of dark then 12/12 makes plant flower sooner, I call BS, being I have tryed it many times with many different strains and think it's a waste of 36hrs.

Your plants sex will not be affected. If you have 2 or more plants do a half and half and see if it works for you.

someone said it saves you a couple of weeks..
one bloke said his plants turned hermie..

It will not save you anytime and as for Hermie, nope that was not the cause.

by the sound of it theres no real ryme or reason for bothering wiyh it.... i don't understand why so many people do it.....

Well people say it tell the plant (*after 36 no light then 12 light) that it is time to flower. Well you waste 36 hrs to do what 12/12 will do in a week or two. I never saw any difference to keep me going.

it may help kick it into flower mode faster but what helps more is if u go 14 hours of dark instead of 12 it will flower quicker and finish quicker BUT you will have smaller yeild
