total newb: Question regarding Soil

Are you suppose to wet/flush the soil before planting the seed? I think I made the mistake of not doing this and the soil keeps drying up even if I mist the top. The seed is not sprouting.

Could that have been the problem?

Did you germinate your seed? what did you plant it in?
 
it was like a clay pot that I got from lowes.

Don't I have to flush the soil with water to moist it before I put in the germinated seed?

Thought I posted here. I soak the seeds for 12 hours. Place in shallow hole in seedling soil. Just enough soil to cover the seed. use a spray bottle and soak the soil slow but very well.

If the soil is dry...yes.
