Total newb to growing. Check out the setup im considering. Got some questions etc..

Hi boys and girls.

I am a total newb to growing. Have always been a buyer not a grower but due to the general lack of anything around here in oz at the moment im wanting to start growing.

I know pretty much close to nothing and want a nice easy setup.

This is what im looking at buying;

Any help and tips would be awesome.

Im also undecided on the grow system, im either going flood and drain or an autopot system. What would be better and easier?

Any adivce on pH and also topping would be ace as well..

dont, u can piece one together cheaper.

Well that is what i intend to do. Go to my local hydro store and give them these specs and get them to throw it together..

Still would like some tips and questions answers.

its gone, i cant see what it was. but most of that ebay shit is guys spending 30-40 bucks at wallmart, putting it together, and calling it a $300 hydro system.

First things first. you need to figure out a plan. I spent a lot of time, money, and aggravation trying build a grow box to get my stuff set up in a closet just to find out that the closet by itself was the best solution. I definitely think you should check out the DIY section before you go dropping mad money on a system. I think we need a little more info from you before answering, let's start with....

Does it need to be a stealth grow?

How much yield are you hoping for?

how much room to you have work with?

just so you have an idea, don't be thinkin your going to be able to support yourself if your an average chronic. With that tent would hold about 10 -16 plants which even with SOG going on (constantly coning, vegging and flowering) you might come close but don't expect to never have to buy weed again

so your saying that scince its a first time thing than its likely to have unsuccessful plants are because it takes time to get the plant flowered and cured i want to know cuz im bout to grow a plant for the first time

ya from seed to end of curing (if done properly) is like 5 - 7 months. Your first time can be a sucess or a major fuckup. My first was my best, my 3rd was my big fuck up (over nutrients). Also, that tent is worth ~200$ ballasts are worth ~200$ - 300$ and a HPS bulb is ~100$ so in that auction you'd be losing money. Also, hydro is the hardest way to do it and the easiest way to fuck up.

^^HIS OPINION^^

you should do alot of reading before you decide if hydro is for you. i love it, but its all ive known. if you mess up your nutes you see it faster and can correct the problem faster with hydro. faster growth rates with hydro. less pests with hydro. oh, and everything is fully automated with hydro(not always, but why the hell not?).

wait.....why is it the hardest and easiest to fuck up again???

o well i just gonna start out with soil just to get the hang of taking care of the plants and
learn things by simply just doing it


but i hope to have a grow room for each type one day xD

It needs to be stealth, as in, i live in a unit.. But doesnt have to be disguised in or as a cupboard etc.

Yield doesnt bother me, wanting to grow for the fun and to save myself buying at some stage. I dont expect to stop buying all together but would like a patch of time where i have myself covered.

The least amount of room i use the better.

Im not hoping to totally support myself. Just hoping at some point to have a period of time where i dont have to worry about buying.

research is key to learning how to grow..so with that said i think you should spend a few bucks on the best dvd so far to learning how to grow (my opinion)
i grow chronic or even better watch it on youtube..lol....that guy is the shiiiit and teaches you how to build your own system as well

The grow tent is a good idea, unless you just want the DIY experience. I found this doing a google search.

Then the tent should be more than enough. If you get it, check into seeing if you can covert it into a SCRog set up. Done correctly and with the right plant, you could potentially double or triple your per plant yield. I'm using a SCRog set up in a closet, and I'm sure it could be added to a tent setup.

heyy dude I would recommend u go with soil , in a closet , go with 4-5 plants , and get a HPS light, i think itll be a gud first experience, thats what i would go for, and dont forget exaust and a DIY carbon filter for the smell
