I had to be away from my grow for 3 days during week 3 of flower in a coco grow. They were in 5" pots and dried completely. I damaged the root zones no doubt. I transplanted to 6x6x7 rose pots and watered with full strength rhizotonic and backed off a bit on the nutes for a week. All of that and I only got 15-20% yield loss and I couldn't notice any loss in flavor/quality of smoke.

My point is that you want to pay attention to your root zone after you transplant. Rhizotonic or any other root stimulator would be a must in your situation.

What are you growing in? soil I'm guessing? Is the medium fully dry within 24 hours after watering? If it isn't you don't have a problem and do not need to transplant.

how can you judge the 24 hour water idea. what if he didn`t water enough it could dry up the same day depending on heat, how much water, type of soil used. size of plant.

i transplanted after first sign of sex last grow. i didnt think it had effected my plants until i choed them down and looked at the root ball. it basically came out in the same shape as the pots that i transplanted from...minimal root growth had occured.

the plants did fine though. just wasnt much root change. that being said, you might not benefit much from a transplant unless you take extra measures to develop the roots like BAS was saying.

I never transplant. The current grow is in probably no more than half gallon pots, right now they are 9 inches. But 18 inches is about my limit.

don't transplant that, if you haven;t already. :blsmoke: It's fine. Just let it dry well and get used to it's light weight then you can water it without causing root dmg from over drying.

the purple is nothing to worry about, mine all do that. some is because of pheno, some due to temp change( cool nights) and some to do with nute stress. but dont worry about it.
if ya run out of room ya just take the top and bend her over and tie it down. good for the light penetration
