Transplanting advice/questions

Hey everyone,

I'm about to start my second grow, probably within the next week or two. This will be a pc stealth/micro grow using led's and BioBizz nutes. My first grow were autoflowers so I didn't transplant them. My next grow will be one bubbleicious and one AK48, both feminized. I've tried doing research on transplanting and the purpose of it but haven't found anything solid. I'll be using 1.3 gallon square pots for this grow, larger than my first and plan on planting the germinated seed straight into that pot.

What's the benefit of vegging in a cup or small pot then transplanting?

Since the pots I can use will be only 1.3 gallons, the max my box fits, would it even make since to transplant? Any advice is welcome, thanks!!

no just start them in the big pots the main benefit i get from small ppts then transplanting up is to start with higher seedling numbers for selection otgerwise if you have the luxury starting in final ppt is best to minimize shock

Just wanted to say that transplanting done correctly causes no stress.

Here's a tutorial I posted a while ago.

I still transplant using the same method today.

Personally I would start in a small Dixie cup and then into final pot.

Builds a healthier robust root mass by transplanting.

Big pot with small seedling/plants can invite over watering.

Nice, that's a good way to go about it. How long to you wait to transplant? I was only planning to veg 3-4 weeks max. Most likely 3.

Depends on the size of the cup, lights being used blah blah.

Generally I use
Dixie cup 10-14 days

6.5Litre pot for about 3 weeks

11Litre pot for 2 more weeks veg and then switch to flower in the 11L.

Thanks. A few more follow up questions if you don't mind. How long would you recommend waiting to switch to 12/12 after transplanting? At least a week or two? Also, I use all BioBizz nutes and soil. I assume your giving nothing but water that first 10-14 days, right? I was going to try using the BioBizz's root juice. They recommend 1 dose of it at week one when the plant is a few centimeters tall and has 2-4 leaves. Would you do that in the Dixie cup or wait til after transplanting?

Personally I veg for quite a while.

On average around 6 weeks but I use mainline training to shape my plants.

I switch when my plants have had recovery time from their last training session and I'm happy with their maturity and structure.

As for feeding.

I grow in coco and germinate seeds in coco with a precharge of EC 0.8.

I never use plain water.

I transplanted 2x 12 week old large plants from out to indoors. I dug pretty far around and put them in a 7 gal bucket. I did it fast and didn't break any big roots I also watered afterward with water and clonex. I put them in promix and took them to my grow room with 4x600w HPS Whaddaya think? Will they make it?

fertlizing after transplanting is generaly a bad idea, if their has ben stress (stuff happens) the fert. will only aggravate it
