transplanting question

Im just curious, would transplanting a plant thats in early stages of flowering cause it to stunt the flowering stage until it has filled the pot with roots? in other words would it extend how long it would take to completely bud?
i did this with a plant last year and it didn't completely finish that well at all, and it is bag seed but it looks like its an outdoor strain from what i can tell but im just wondering if that would of messed it up.

if your were to transplant ure plant would stop growing for about a week but other then that it shouldnt effect your plant, get a seaweed tonic it will reduce the stress
