Transplanting seedlings

Hi all,

Random question that I wasn't able to find info on (maybe my search skills needs improving):
When I transplanted my seedlings, from an aerogarden to soil, one of my seedlings had a very long taproot.

When I move a plant like that into soil, should I move it as-is, or should I trim the root back at all? This time, I just gently set all that root down into the dirt, coiling it in a way.

Not sure what's best or if I'm overthinking it

Remember to handle the plant (roots) gently, keep it well watered and
avoid fertilizing or hot organic soil mixes as the roots harden off.
