Tree Grow or SOG?

Just a broad, general question. I'm in the early planning stages and I've been studying a few of the RIU staples - Al B. Fuct, RizNoob's 10,000 watt grow, and M Blaze's tree grow. What are the things to consider when choosing a road to go down? I know what most of the answers will be but I want to hear them anyway cause it will help me realize what works for me.
What would it take to have a functional perpetual cycle with big trees, so as to avoid the risks that SOG brings with the high plant numbers? Would it work to have four trees, each two weeks apart in a flower room? Is there anyone out there doing that? I would expect to see more of it with the way the laws are now. There must be a reason I don't. What is it?

Thanks RIU! I love it here.

People wouldn't generally go perpetual with a setup like that because of usually requiring different strength nutes and additives depending on the stage in flower, and doing that means more individual reservoirs, more pumps, more chillers, more hassle changing and mixing different crap all the time.

Some use the same stuff and strength all the way through even with different strains, but that's not ideal really or even always possible at all.

I grew SOG for years. Ive recently switched to SCROG, I believe it is much more efficient, and the yields are just as good or even better.

Those of us who run trees usually are doing it because we have legal limits on plant counts and are playing within the medical rules. That video looks sweet though, and if I could run 100+ plants I would but I prefer to sleep soundly at night.

I wish I could hear what the guys saying, but my speakers just up and died. What the hell is that grow media, and is it ebb and flow?
And what did he yield with how many watts?
Trees can do pretty good too though...

Here's the grow details on that Holland Grower-

After two days I put the plants into flowering.

This video is make for home growers of cannabis plants to show my setup and my way of growing.
There are a lot of different grow systems, but this is my way to grow.

Result = small plants

Room specification:
Grow room aria 5,1 M2
Workroom / dryroom, whit electricity aria 1,2 M2.
Air input 1500 M3
Air output 2500 M3
Carbon filter 100 cm
Light: 7 x 600 Watt HPS
Heating : 4 x 800 Watt
Feeding tank: 1000 liter under the Grow room.
Feeding system: ebb and high tide
Strain : S.AG.E. ( Sativa Afghani Genetic Equilibrium )

If you look at the end of the video and the massive single colas he harvested, it looks like he ended up with pounds, not onces.

As far as trees go, if you have the lights like the guy on THC Farmer did (that picture you posted was of a 10 plant, 42 pound grow, alledgedly) then trees are great. For people that need fast turnover and not as much resources to spare, then SOG or SCROG is probably better. Al B. Fuct and others on RIU have it down, just check their journals.

I'm trying to find out what kind of media (and other details) that Holland grower used the results were amazing!

Here's link to the site but it appears to be in Dutch or some other language:

Thanks for the info...

Yes trees naturally take time to veg so usually it's not as fast or productive as SOG etc, but if anyone is curious that tree grow flips 6x a year just like a sog by vegging in another area under only 2kw. So, even if they were yielding equal, which they aren't, 2kw less efficient on such a large op is not that bad given the options of legal plant counts or illegal ones. http://www.thcfarmer.com/forums/f131/ Just look in the veg thread. Of course a sog would need some veg lights too, but probably not 2k...
