Tri-Leaf White Russian

So i'm getting back into the growing hobby! Very excited, picked up a pack of Serious Seeds White Russian as my starter strain. I have always wanted to run this strain. I had read about a tri-leaf plant long ago and it seems pretty rare and has the potential to yield 30% more. She started as a mutant but flourished just as the others. Here are some pictures, its beginning its fourth node as a tri-leaf as well. Fingers crossed its a female :)

Thanks you, I'll be sure to make a grow journal on this one so people can see what they look like at their various stages. If it shows to be male, i'm planning on pollinating a branch for seeds, do you think it would strengthen my chances to get an second tri-leaf using pollen from this plant?

I have done a ton of white russian from seed. Love the strain. Yields very well and makes killer smoke. Mmmm tasty....im running it right now....

But i have never had a tri leaf ever.....

Was is it about those that makes it yield more...and 30%!!??? For real?

Yea, its pretty sweet, I'm not really sure where I read it but as I recall it was a forum member (not sure which forum) from the breeder. The idea is with three leaves per node, you'll end up with 33% more bud sites. Ill see if I can find the posting for ya.

It was easier to find than I thought, its called a trifoliate plant. https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=232949

They are sensitive girls. They will droop like they are dying when they get thirsty. Fuckin drama queens... And they will droop right after they are watered... cant please these bitches...lol but dont worry...they are fine.... anfew hours after feeding they will reach for the sky and look all perky again.... same with most strains but very dramatic in this one...

Also, as you are upping your nutes go slow... they burn easy... i use AN and they dont like more than 80% strength. 1000ppm ish. They probably will be the same with other nutes.

If you treat these girls right their buds will get heavier than their stalks can handle on the side shoots. Be prepared to string those up when you get close to finishing...

Drama queens they are. But you will love the smoke! And they get very crystally... the trim yields very well in making hash....

Most important...careful with the nutes...

My girls are from clone this time and are 10 days since flipping the lights. They showed buds about 6 days in. Also, the trichs show early too...

Ill post pics when they start to glitter in a few days....

Nice, I have always preferred to run GH nutes. I ran AN and they were nice, especially at stabilizing my PH. But they cost alot and I didn't see a gain in yield. I will definitely keep close eye on the ppm as they grow.

Any particular phenos that stand out?

I havent been so lucky as to find any.... ive had a few that really show their indica side, but they have been sensitive too... which reminds me....another thing is that if you like to defoliate a bit then get most of that done before the buds start to show because if you defoliate too heavy they will still stall and you will lose yield... made that mistake a couple times... and from seed youll likely have about 15 -20 days from flip to tidy them up a bit...then just let em go

They also stretch quite a bit but ive managed to control that reasonably well by keeping the temp swing to less than 12 degrees from lights on to off during flower in the first 3 weeks...

That's a good tip, I do like to defoliate. I feel it helps direct energy to the right places. They are still very small but I do notice slight variations in height and leaf width.

What are you running for lighting? At what height do you flower and what do they end up at?

Really appreciate the info, thank you.

Ive got 8 girls in 5 gal pots under 2 x1000w. From beer cup to 1 gal pot to 5 gal pots they were vegged total about 5 weeks to 18" tall. Since i flipped about 11 days ago they have stretched to 23" roughly. That temp swing control has really done well holding that back. I expect they will stretch annother 8" or so to 32" tall... i hope...dont have much more head room than that. Lol
