They are not going to allow home growing for personal use...the system is already in place, it's the punishments that need to be worked out.

Of course MJ won't kill you, but it is an intoxicant, and will be regulated as such. As far as money grabs, only the tweedle/Tilray suits have got the $$$ signs in their eyes. They're the ones that are gonna cash in, not the Gov...IMO.

They are entirely separate issues.

And it will be tough for "them" to stop home grows for either if it's sold legally for rec.
The libs were talking Colorado model which allows home grows for both but with limits.

Tweed inc will be the first recreational company in Canada, they will no longer be medical marijuana and bedrocan will take over the medical aspect..

I don't understand your mindset. The government controls just about every industry in this country through various laws and regulation, yet the ONLY time we hear opposition is when it comes to marijuana? I personally don't have a problem with regulation as long as it strikes a balance that society can accept. The comparison to booze and smokes is very relevant in the context of 'public safety laws'. Marijuana is an intoxicant and it is inhaled, it will be treated as such. I'm not saying it's what everyone wants legal to look like, I saying that is what society will dictate. As long as we have the right to grow for personal recreational use, and the right to grow or have someone else grow quantities needed for medical use, any laws around sales or access to youth are OK by me.

Business 101...

In a regulated market the players have to pay big for licensing and permits o the way in. Then they pay big to set up the operation. Then they lobby the government for laws to protect them...arguing that because they have paid for all thelicenses and permits and set up costs and high taxes on the product so they cant compete against on price point with the blackmarket that doesnt have all those costs...so penalties for them have to be harsh... and it is a legit argument. If you have a business that follows rules and others dont... you cant compete. Peroid.

Nobody is interested in the homegrower... just like with the regulated booze markets where people who are allowed to make a small amount of beer or wine for home use (no distribution or trafficking) we will be allowed to do the same. Its the same with tobacco... simply because it is too expensive to prosecute a guy who grows a half dozen plants in his basement and has no effect on the huge legalized market...

Its only the bigger guys on the black market that will have to worry. They are going to be hit hard. Just like they did with booze. And the black market price will go up...at which point the big legal producers will flood the market with cheaper product to snuff out the last bit of the black market...which is the WHOLE POINT of legalization...

This is a business model that is been around for a few thousand years...

No...I'm jumping on Dizzy for her lack of understanding or separation between a forum on medical marijuana and one on politics. Half of her posts have nothing at all to do with marijuana, she's just looking for a platform to continue fighting the Liberals. The only thing dizzy concerns her tiny little mind with is Justin Trudeau....weird. When there is post after post calling other posters various childish names based on which political party they support or voted for, and then refusing to defend or even discuss her position....I rightfully call that toxic. I'm not sure why she continues to single me out, but I can give it back 10x's...and I will. You wouldn't sit back while I repeatedly called you out, why do you think I should give the troll a pass?
