Trudeau was in Vancouver today and took questions. He was asked about the dispensaries and he said it is up to the province and cities to decide how it is sold.
Justin Trudeau talks marijuana regulation at Vancouver City Hall
Trudeau was asked about Vancouver’s attempts to regulating medical marijuana dispensaries.

“Obviously the Criminal Code will need to be adjusted if we’re going to control and regulate, and that’s something the federal government will do, but when it comes to distribution, when it comes to selling and engaging, obviously the provinces and indeed the municipalities will have to be an integral part of that discussion.”

This is first time since 1973 that a Prime Minister has paid a visit to Vancouver City Hall. The last visit was paid by former PM Pierre Trudeau.

It’s music to Robertson’s ears.

“We’ve had to undertake regulation of the dispensaries because there were no thoughtful controls coming from Ottawa, historically.”

Around 20 years ago, I was standing on the steps of Vancouver City Hall, lighting joint after cannon, protesting C-6 (or whatever the hell it was).
I even dropped a few seeds in the garden (yah...that didn't turn out so well).
As I drove by today--by accident-- listening to the radio, making the turn on 12th to get back to the highway, they announced the post-affair of Trudeau's visit. Supposedly, there was a reporter standing there at the time.

I saw no one.

Liars!

IMO....until Phelan renders his decision, JT's hands are tied on MMJ. I don't see how the government can create any policies for MMJ, while there is a constitutional challenge on MMJ before the courts. Until the homegrown issue is resolved by Phelan, I doubt we'll hear anything MMJ from the new Gov.

Also, Phelan's decision could have ramifications in writing the new Rec laws. If MMJ users are allowed to continue to grow @ home, when it's Rec legal, shouldn't everybody be allowed to grow then?

and yet there hasn't been a peep about home growing for patients since....
Like a typical politician, he panders to the sheep who vote for shiny things.

He gives his usual 'we have to protect kids from "harmful substances like marijuana", all weed dealers and gangs' bullshit. Then he defends the 'specialization research' that is basically a pro MMPR, pro big pharma statement.

It's absurd that people in this forum continue to lick Justin's sack. He's another empty suit, a smiling face on the same old Harper Agenda.

who has licked JT's sack? you must have something to prove it.
you don't like JT. we get that but your accusations are completely ridiculous! i don't there are that many JT supporters here
CANADA voted him in...not just the people here.
i for one don't think he'll do a good job but i really hope he follows through. it's way too soon to make ANY judgements about what he has or hasn't done. the guy hasn't been in office long enough. come on....
