Trump starts a war with Iran

Calm down sir. The war isn't coming to your front door. The ENTIRE world is against having a large confrontation. All of Iran's allies, are against a major confrontation. All of our allies are against a major confrontation. Should Iran bring the war straight to our door, what is it you think their military commanders think the reaction from the USA will be? It would be entirely insane. There is a reason we spend $600 billion+ on defense spending, compared to the rest of the world spending less than $250 billion. No-one ACTUALLY wants that fight. Everyone will go out of their way to stop a real war from happening. This includes countries like N. Korea and Iran. They don't actually want a full blown war, and unconventional or not, they still dont want a full blown war. They want to posture and show they "aren't" scared of the big bad USA. They want to say they stood up to the terrible imperialistic state. That is all.

If terrorist attacks begin in the USA, the response would be to attack whatever home country originated the attacks. Reason? To keep it away from our own front door. Its better to fight in the neighbors yard than your own.

Iran gave Trump a way out of this without going to war. Is Trump smart enough to take it?

Iran made the smart play. They get away with showing force against the US, but without hitting a single american. Means if the US does anything in retaliation, the rest of the world will condemn us more.

So I had this soldier join my squad fresh from jump school after my first deployment. He's an E-9 now and still listens to Wu-Tang clan. I had leave taken away for buying him beer when he wasn't legally old enough to drink.

I asked him if Trump is popular in his battalion and he said "only among the white guys over 30 with a few exceptions".

For what that's worth...

Iran is a very weak bully that deserves a bloody nose. Those that condemn us are a joke. Time to rearrange Iran’s nuclear facilities.

I just retired from the 101st, and while Trump isn't popular.... A deployment is extremely popular. I come from combat arms MOS and deployments are the reason we deal with the shitty conditions of training. If we don't deploy (such as when I was attached to a non-deployable unit for a few years), it feels extremely bad to know you are training in a unit that isn't even going to let you use your training.

This is a popular feeling among all races, not just the white 30+ soldiers.

Yo, this speech was planned for 11am EST. WTF man, be prudent with your American public (and the rest of the world).

Maybe for the first deployment and even then I suspect it's bravado much of the time, but I would still tend to concur. But supporting Trump and wanting to become a veteran aren't the same, even for the most impressionable.
