On Thursday, Foreign Policy published a remarkable memo penned by a former staffer on President Trump’s National Security Council. The author, Rich Higgins, was forced out last month by national security adviser H.R. McMaster for composing it. The memo contends that the president is the target of a vast conspiracy spearheaded by so-called cultural Marxists, who have allied with Islamists and captured (among other groups) the media, the deep state, academia, “global corporatists” and leaders of both parties. That Higgins worked for the NSC is disturbing enough. But more disturbing is that Trump, who saw the memo when it was passed to him by his son Donald Trump Jr., was “furious” at Higgins’s removal — a sign of the scary conspiratorial depths the president is already descending to.

Trump’s attraction to an alternate reality where he is the target of the political elite, the banking elite, Marxists, the Islamic State, the deep state and professors from coast to coast fits in nicely with one of his rules: Nothing is ever his fault. He blamed a botched raid in Yemen on “the generals.” He blamed the failure of his Trump Shuttle airline on the economy. He blamed his failures in Atlantic City on two executives who died working for him. Facing declining poll numbers and an utter failure to “drain the swamp” or repeal major Obama-era legislation, the president once again has resorted to playing the victim. He remains, as one White House ally put it to The Post in May, “in the grip of some kind of paranoid delusion.”

When is he going to build that wall? It hasn't been mentioned for a while. Has it been forgotten about or has Trump and his fellow swampees finally realised it was a BS idea in the first place?

A fascinating read. Indeed the Civil War must still be fought and it can still be lost, not just by black people but by any targeted group, such as America's poor or recent immigrants- even legal ones.

The current president has shown himself to be a racist, classist and misogynistic threat to the foundational principles of this nation and what it means to be American.

This crisis can be seen as an opportunity to once again assert that freedom, dignity, respect and fair treatment are everyone's birthright in America and do not just belong to a privileged few.

It was never really meant to be anything but an empty promise to get into office and then to whip up the base.

As soon as it became a political liability he predictably dropped it like a flaming turd. I'm sure we'll hear his recriminations beginning soon enough. He can't take responsibility for anything and the wall will be no different.

I think the resistance should start selling pink dolls named Floyd for protesters to carry, lol

Lol uncle buck is just taking advantage of his constitution rights, that protects even loud mouths. But personaly i stand by Texas. Our leadership have realy gone hand over food to do everything they can for the people. If Greg Abbott was president america would be great again.

The really sad part about all of this is that many people will/do judge Americans based upon their current leader. Many people around the world will think that "This must be what America wants because they voted for him." Trump might have the ability to make money - although that is questionable - but he just doesn't know how to be a President. He doesn't think about how his words and actions reflect upon the ordinary citizen of the country he is supposed to be leading.
History will tell the true story but by then the damage will have been done. The next President has an almighty task ahead of him/her before they've even been elected or nominated. An important part of being President is to leave the country in a better state than when they took over the job. By that measure Trump has already failed......unless he can pull something magical out of his ass......

True but my believe about america have nothing to do with him. America started going down hill at the end of ww2, and after 911 (Bush) it was lost.
