Leaked OPCW report suggests Syria gas attack was ‘staged,’ MIT scientist says

Renowned MIT scientist Theodore Postol says a newly leaked OPCW report shows the supposed 2018 gas attack in Douma, Syria was “staged,” undermining the case for US strikes on the Syrian government.

By Aaron Maté

A newly leaked OPCW assessment challenges the claim that the Syrian government carried out a chemical weapons attack in Douma in April 2018. Award-winning scientist and MIT professor emeritus Theodore Postol says the report shows the gas attack was “staged,” and undermines the case for the US strikes that followed.

“The evidence is overwhelming that the gas attacks were staged,” Postol said in an interview with The Grayzone’s Aaron Maté.

Postol continued: “If I were advising somebody, as I did when I was in the Pentagon, I advised the chief of naval operations, and part of my job was to take technically detailed analysis and translate it into information that could be readily understood by an intelligent non-expert, so if I were briefing the chief on this particular document, I would not caveat it quite the way that the [OPCW] professionals did, although they did a good job. I would simply say that the evidence is overwhelming that the gas attacks were staged, and then I would explain why this evidence is overwhelming.”
I hope you don't ever dox your self to me because I consider you a Terrorist against the USA

But no evidence of any victims of sarin. Also, lots of people handling the canisters, the 'victims', etc with no PPE. Fuck, there's video of a reporter sniffing a backpack and saying it smells like nerve gas! LMAO

Believe what you want. Goodness knows you're impervious to facts.
Won't work.

Evidence in the form of dead bodies and dying people's symptoms were recorded. Enough to say conclusively that Assad is a war criminal and that he used sarin. You can cite RT all you want. Doesn't change the record of events from that day.

Unlike the bullshit sites you use, defense one has a high rating for accuracy and a "no bias" rating.

Defense One

LEAST BIASED

These sources have minimal bias and use very few loaded words (wording that attempts to influence an audience by using appeal to emotion or stereotypes). The reporting is factual and usually sourced. These are the most credible media sources. See all Least Biased Sources.

Factual Reporting: HIGH

Notes: Defense One (DO) is an online news site that reports primarily on matters relating to national defense and security. The articles are well written, well sourced, and highly factual. National defense and security are always complex and controversial subjects. The solid analysis and insight that DO provides can be a key path to navigating and understanding them. While some of the articles exhibit a slight left or right bias, this can be attributed primarily to the subject matter as opposed to the bias of the author. That aside, the overall content and editorial intent of DO earns them a Least Biased rating. (D. Kelley 3/27/2017)

Yeah, remember how the Carter Foundation "certified" the Maduro election and you laughed and laughed and laughed at anybody who thought Maduro had rigged his election?

David Ickies was a respected BBC journalist. Who are you to say that Boxcar Willie isn't a space lizard from Andromeda? Methinks you are saying the BBC is propaganda.

Information is useless to not very bright people. Most especially to those unaware of their limitations. Thank you for proving it over and over.

Dude. Try not to throw around terms you don't know the meaning of

He hasn't attacked anyone, let alone innocent civilians for political gain.

That's America's job.

You just lost the argument, so distract!

Stick to the topic for a change.

So anybody who was a professor at any acclaimed University has to be believed on the merits of this alone?

Somebody doesn't understand higher education at all

Lol. I lost the argument based on a statement by a MIT professor emeritus?

God damn you are one simple minded goof.

Did I lose the argument about the Carter Foundation "certifying" Maduro's election too. I mean, that's a pretty good foundation.

Tty is officially a pigeon now.

By the way, the OPCW has is no way "confirmed" this study's provenance. If it is a real study, their not including it speaks to the fact that they did not consider it reliable.

In Tty's world all you need is for somebody at the UN to say something and the "UN certified Maduro's election". In Ttys world all you need for MIT to certify something is to find one person who used to work there to say it. Want to own the truth? Just pay off some poor former Pulitzer winner to write something.

In Ttys world, all you need to prove something is to read or watch something, anything really, that confirms your bias and ignore the rest.

Tty has entered Squarepusher status, the lowest lying fruit in the disinformation and propaganda game.

Sad.

You never led a horse to water. Not this time either.

The article was written by an MIT emeritus professor, Not MIT. You probably don't understand the difference.

This is very much like a climate denier's tactic of ignoring all the postive indications and focusing on the one countervailing opinion and citing it as fact. The article @squarepush3r cited was written by Aaron Matte. Matte also wrote:

Russiagate Is More Fiction Than Fact
From accusations of Trump campaign collusion to Russian Facebook ad buys, the media has substituted hype for evidence.

Yeah, he spends a lot of time talking about "no evidence" there too. As in, it's 2017 and we don't have any evidence of Trump-Russian conspiracy. Two years on, we do and there was plenty of evidence.

So, back to Theodore Postal, the MIT emeritus. He doesn't really work at MIT any more, he just has that title because he brings in grants.

This is his article: https://washingtonsblog.com/2017/04/67102.html

It's full of big words. The most important are: Analysis of video images and declassified information. In other words, he did his job as an off site analyst with what the DOD released to the public.

I don't think the guy is lying. The biggest problem is his is just second-hand information and not even access to complete information at that. Is his a better source upon which to base a claim that refutes eyewitness accounts and testimony from doctors who treated the victims. As you say, you can lead a horse to water but, oh wait, there isn't water where you went. Horse died.

All distracting drivel.

Keep trying.

The truth is obvious.

Are you working for the CIA? Why are you so invested in backing the lies of a country that is supporting clumsy false flag attacks and getting more innocent civilians killed in your name?

Is Mike Pompeo REALLY the kind of person you think is a hero?

Now attacking the OPCW and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology as 'fake news' lol
