I see.
Your wanting to clean up peoples dirty backyard bho for them. Smart business idea.
Id say go all out and buy a molecular or wiped film still of some sort like the pope. That is If your going to process a lot and want to give people maximum return on their product and want to collect the fractions
I knock short path because its not super efficient in many ways and not very good "turn key" investment imo
You will have fun with the rotovap for sure now that you have it. It has many other uses. I just laugh at the salesmen pitching them as reclaim devices. Basically he sold you bought a rols royce when you really would have been fine with a chevy.
A rotary evaporation can be mimicked with simple glassware and a inert gas bubble to replicate the rotation. I think their may be something in vogels the 3rd about it?;Maybe im wrong. Ive seen it somewhere
Rotovap is just a basic reflux setup tilted at an angle with a 3 way adapter in the middle and rotated by an expensive motor to increase surface area. Bells and whistles are neat though.
Carbon is one way to remove chlorophyll. It removes toxins too. Its a quick easy way to clean up a dirty looking extract through simple filtration. Bleeching clays also work. Fat and wax can be removed by certain types of celite filtration as well as water and lipids. It can filter cuticle wax as well but that gets into some specific formulations.
No need to winterize polar extracts. Also Chlorophyll can be removed before extraction if you like. So can terps. Cannabinoids can be seperated many ways.chromatograpy/filtration distillation. Pure thc or cbd can be attined easily a few ways. Filtration or recrystallization or extraction.
Terps are in such miniscule amounts in cannabis i extract them from other sources.

Reviewing a post on thc farmer where you had a discussion with Terpsauce and others about the rotovap and distillation.
He claims that after winterization and then using the rotovap to remove the etoh, you would be left with a 0ppm raw clear absolute. Is this true?
Depending on weather or not you're trying to isolate the terps as well?

Also interested in the carbon filtering process. Is this done after winterization or during? Presumably to remove chlorophyll?
A rotovape can't hold high enough vacuum levels to perform short path distillation, because of the rotary union. It will produce an absolute but it won't separate the C10/15 from the C21/22 and C-30 fractions.

Carbon filtering is done after dewaxing and before removing the alcohol. Be sure and wet the carbon well before use, or it will absorb and retain a high percent of liquid. It also has to be filtered submicron to remove the carbon fines.
