Two 4x4 tents ventilation help

Hi Guys,

First post long time lurker.

I am finally planing a new grow solution and would appreciate your input on ventilation solutions.

The details in short.

I am planning to run two 4x4 rooms . One for veg and mothers and another for flower.
I have ordered 3 x Lighting Group 260 Watt XL Quantum Board. 2 for the flower room and 1 for the veg room.
These will be in a space currently used for laundry but has a chimney that is not in use.

I am stuck on deciding between building these rooms from melamine or to buy two 4x4 tents. The melamine rooms would allow me to integrate a filter box behind kickplate and above the plants so that i can use 1 x 8 inch fan for the intake and same for the extraction a single 8" carbon filter would then be ducted into the chimney. My reasoning is that it would reduce my fan costs and noise while allowing me better control of the air quality. The downside is that it will take a few weeks for me to put this together and lets just say I am not the handiest of craftsman.

The alternative is to run the two tents with a y splitter connected to a an 8 inch and fan for intake and rely on passive intake. This would prevent me from managing intake air but it would be significantly cheaper.

Your thoughts on the value of these designs or alternative designs would be greatly appreciated.

Further, we have very limited gear availibility in sout-africa ( my home country ) Most of the products we have available are not recognized brands I see on these forums and specs are limited. I hoped to ask if someone would be willing to look over the fan options in the link below and advise if there is a product that seems suitable.

Your time and expertise is greatly appreciated.

Hi bProlific,

I guess these "silet series" inline fans will work for you just great (https://gthydro.co.za/products/296-silent-series-6-fan.html)

I also saw that they sell Mammoth tents which is pretty awesome. These are one of the cheapest tents but the quality is OK. Also their zippers are super quiet and that's a nice bonus. I tried tents that cost more than 250€ (120 x 120 cm) but I would choose mammoth every time :)

If I were you I would go for 2 mammoth 120 x 120 tents. I would also use both tents for flowering but that's just me. I like to start every grow from seed and end with harvest. This way I get most g / m2 / week. I always put 9 plants in 1 100 x 100 to get maximum yield.

If you put only one inline fan for 2 tents then definitely pick the 8" model.
