Two dro seeds and a grow light

I had a friend with some seeds and a light and didn't have time or space to use them. So I sent him some money so he could mail the gear to me and I could set up shop. This would be my first grow ever so he put some faith in me to be successful. He sent me 10 seeds of varying quality. I ruined the first 8 seeds through various means, but saved the last 2 dankest looking ones. I planted them and nurtured them. I've transplanted them twice and they are doing amazing as far as I can tell. My same friend told me to start a grow journal so I will be posting pictures at least twice a week.

Thanks in advance for any help and advice you fellow growers bestow upon me in hopes more love fills the Earth.

Leaves look to be curling? We need to know what your working with. Wattage? type of lamp(looks like a metal halide probably 400 or 600w) fertilizer? Distance from lamp to top of plant? Age? And is there only two? Mirrors might be too much of a reflective surface. Tin foil works great and less to worry about(like falling on your girls) Anyone else care to help me out with this one?

400 watt HPS that was about 2 feet from the tops of plants. I had been using tin foil but the fan was rustling the foil edges so I just grabbed extra mirrors. I've used around 6 TBS of plant food from my tomato garden over a couple weeks. Soil is just regular potting mix.

Id say that the lamp is too close. Probably why the leaves curl.. Try to get some good ferts from a hydro store near you perhaps? But e2 feet is killin hot grab a few cfls and put them close until you can cool it off or what have you. You got this!

You got a a fan on them? 2' isn't all that close for a 400, I'd want it at about 12" or so. That soil looks dry as a bone, they're wilting from lack of water and they look starved.

I suggested raising the lamp for the sole reason that the room looks like its not ventilated and a small closet. 400 w put out a hella a lot of heat, thats probably why the soil dries so fast.

Jack Harer- do you agree with the high temp hypothesis? And a mere fan might not be enough to cool that room down...

Ground618UP- What are your temp readings throughout the day. ie. morning, midday and night

The plants can stand pretty damn high temps. Those girls are PARCHED and hungry. also, ditch those mirrors and get some Ultra White paint (Behr) on the walls, or go down to either WalMart or Sportsman's Paradise and get some "space blankets" or "survival blankets" (reflective mylar) on the walls. Mirrors suck at reflection of light, and they "COULD" be part of the problem. Foil sucks too. (Unless you use the dull side) Flat white paint is your best reflective surface. As bright a white as you can get. The Behr brand is called Ultra White.

Temp stays below 81. Sometimes it gets as cold as 75 in the middle of the night. I was just reading that heavy clay pots, the ones I've been using, absorb a lot of moisture, so aren't really your best option. I'm gonna go to the store today to pick up some clay fiber. That's what the bible recommends.

For temp what I've done is closed off AC to 1/4 of my house so I'm getting 2x the cold air flow into the growing room.

From caddypimpin "The second plant. Did you trim it up and top it? The dying one that is" ya, I thought getting rid of the dying leaves would help bc the stalk felt so strong still. Probably just high and tryin crazy shit ;X.

SO it must be just a H20 deficiency.. Damn thats an easy fix. Transplanting should be pretty easy and once you get the paint on the walls you should be able to save your girls. My only concern would be the stress caused to them, but with more H20, ferts, and a great temp you should be able to get them healthy soon.

Oh and being lifted and trying "crazy shit" is probably the best and most educational thing you can do. Toke on then get your grow on! Superb
