This ones of Marilyn Manson, I think I spent about 20 hours on it (10 of which in the bracelette alone!!) One of my first real attempts at a good digital painting.

And this ones of the men from Goodfellas, one of my alltime favorite movies, prolly about 20 hours on this too.

Hope you like em'! :-P

I do use a tablet, but it's reaaaally tiny, I believe it's 4"x5", the most basic of all tablets.

Here's the original canvas sizes for anyone interested (can't see the details in the sizes here!)

According to your layers you just modified an existing picture with a bracelet and tattoos. BUT that bracelet and tattoo look insane so good job on that for sure! Looking at your layers you still have some learning to do about Photoshop. If color and color copy have transparent backgrounds why is layer 4 have transparent background? You should use masks cause it will bring you to the next level. I am not being negitive at all just some good work cause that braclet is INSAINE!

Yeah thanks for the comments dude, I can tell you're in the advanced department with the program, any input from another artist is totally appreciated!

You're right, I need to figure out all the layer properties and little tricks you can do, I browse a lot of art out there and some stuff is just out of this world and they get incredible results simply by messing with the layer properties! So I guess that's the next step in the learning process.

Thanks again.

do you sell art, or do any custom shit?
I've never sold any art, I mainly draw for practice and to improve. I have a couple techniques I use, for both of these pictures I used a refrence photo, I have tons of cool pictures saved that I want to draw like these, but I don't want them to be exactly the same as the refrence, that's why I altered DeNiro's tie and kept it grayscale, I have some other stuff that's not finished that's totally original, if I ever get around to completing them, I'll post em' up too.

I'd be down for some custom stuff, as long as the idea sounded cool!

You could've achieved the same effects by just applying a couple filters, would have saved you 19+ hours.

I photoshop all the time over at fark.com, you should check out the PS threads over there. Some truly awesome PS users, and hilarious entries.

Also if you're a beginner, I suggest googling "photoshop tutorials", theyre little step by step guides on creating effects. Learning a bunch of small text tutorials and shit like might seem tedious at first, but all the tricks you learn while doing them will make all the difference. Good luck.
