Two questions...? +rep

So I started my new grow 1.5 weeks ago with 2 bagseeds. So now I'm wondering why they both look totally different when they share the same light? One is taller with more narrower leaves, the other is smaller with less leaves, but the leaves are much wider. Two different strains from the same bagseed?? Doesn't seem right.

2nd question, so I'm wondering why my more slender plant (on the left in pics) has yellowing on leaves, looks like typical nutrient burn. How can I fix this, flush it, repot?

Note that I am a "ghetto" grower FOR NOW, I do not own all these crazy devices most of you do, PH meters, carbon filters, HPS lighting, etc. I use good soil, good nutes, and right now I have 2 125w 6500k CFL lights blasting away on them until they get larger.

Any decent reply gets you a +rep. Thanks guys.

Sounds right to me. Were the 2 seeds from the same Bud?? If not, were those 2 buds off the same plant?? The more unknowns you have in the equation, the more likely it is for all sorts of variable to be at play.

Each and every plant will be slightly different. So if you have 10 seedlings from the same strain, same mother... there will be different phenotypes. Thats why you grow all the seeds in a packet, and grow them out to determine which ones are keepers. Indeed, if you are dealing with seed from a reputable award winning breeder.... there will be more stability, and fewer differences.

A technique that may be of interest to you is sexing by proxy. Rather than switching to 12/12 with the entire plant to determine sex... Take clones, label them as to which plant they came from. Put them on 8hrs light / 16 hrs dark. This will speed up the flowering process, and make them show sex faster than 12/12 ... the clones will be genetically identical to the parent. In the meantime, the parent pant is on a 24hr veg cycle getting big.

yea different phenotypes answers your question. when growing from seed even two the same phenotype can grow differently in the same enviorment just genetics. I would transplant those asap and just water. The nutes in the soil should handle them for a couple weeks so dont add any, i think this might help your yellowing. Dont use clear cups either roots dont like light and light lets bacteria grow.

Awesome thanks for all advice I will replant them in the next 48 hrs. Thx for the clear cup thing, I saw mold on the bottom of one cup hindering root growth so I replanted it in fresh soil in a new clear cup. Ill eliminate the clear cups from use and maybe go with red Solo cups instead for seedlings.

Yes they were, I'm in the process of trying to find the best breeder(shipping speed & quality) for seeds currently and am still not sure what strain(s) to choose. As for the cloning I attempted it last grow to complete failure and my leaf died after 2 weeks with no root growth. I also just used a cup of water and a leaf clipping. Covered it and let it sit.

Look up Al B Fuct's cloning in rockwool thread on here. Thats how i learned to clone. You should go to the member list at the top and look up his name and read all his threads. You'll start growing with more confidence.
