without you telling us annything about your grow, only you can work out how many you need.

google which variety of bulb you require for vegging and flowering (i'll help you in that veg would use 6500K bulbs)

walk the minute to the shops and buy cheap bulbs. a cfl bulb is pretty much a cfl bulb, unless it's tesco value etc :P

pretty much.... a CFL is a CFL... I will say that as they go over 50w the watt-lumen ratio gets crappier.... but hey, lumens arent everything are they?

Some high watt CFLs up top with smaller cfls on the sides is optimum.

bob I bought two 23-watt (120 equiv) warm white CFLs from Robert Dyas at 3.99 each... it was the highest watt/lumen output bulb they sold and they are working fine for me as side lighting... I had a hard time finding high wattage cfls anywhere (argos blows) and I think your best bet is find a hypdroponics store and buy a 125w+ eco-light (6400k for veg) for around 20 quid. Don't waste your time or money on anything less.. lighting products are NOT cheap in the UK unfortunately but they are vital to your grow - if you're going cheap scrounge a few extra quid and ensure you have adequate lighting above all else! hope this helps
