umm newb f-up?advice please.

hey all,
ok heres whats up,i have 6 semi sproutlings of which one popped up real quick
and a few were peeking at me through the soil,well like a idiot i go poking around.and located and uncovered the sprouts 3 of which still have the seed shell on.so my question is do you guys think my young'uns will be alright?
should i attempt to remove shells on the unearthed sprouts(the roots are still snug in ground) i know at the very least i stressed them.

Don't touch them, just leave them be.

give them a few days, mist daily. they often come up dressed for battle (hence the helmets) but if the cotyledons don't push it off, surgery is necessary.

do this as a last resort only. any slight accident will result in the death of the beanling.

take some forceps and grab the shell, front and back. give very slight pressure, just until the husk cracks a little. grab one side of the husk and VERY GENTLY work it off. do the same on the other half.

haha. i did the exact same thing. if the seedlings sprout they will be fine. as for the shell, try to pry it open VERY lightly. if it doesn't give much, then wait a day or two. it will come off eventually.

throw everything away. that or relax and let it do it's thing. no poking, no peeking.

why?

i fully believe if you baby it and spoil it then it will be a weaker plant. let it get some meat on it's bones trying to crack that shell. let it's root fatten up while it tries to push itself out of the soil.

little secret: the deeper i plant my sprouts the fatter the stalks are when they pop up. i've had sprouts pop that were accidentally buried inches deep.

now thats a interesting fact

you are using good airated soil though FDD dont forget that, spme of these mixes are so thick your baby can barely get out

i recycle soil, and after my massive shutdown and cleanup, i had four barrels of dirt. i've been using it to plant flowers and start veggies and perenials...

and just about everyday, i find a new cannabis sprout. they are deffinitely resilient!
