UN to Debate over Ending War on Drugs?

I keep hearing this spread around the net but can't find anything except the petition.

fuck the UN. they can deal with their own bs, and stay OUT OF OURS.

I'm not fond of the UN either, but if it puts pressure on changing drug policies. Then it's done something good in my opinion.

Fuck the UN? The UN are the basis of all drug policy worldwide, the reason drugs arnt legalised ANYWHERE is because most civilised countries are signed up to UN treaties stating that they cant legalise anything without withdrawing from the whole treaty. If their stance changes from prohibitionist to regulation we're gonna see massive changes in the next 10 years...they are the ones we need to convince, so "fuck the UN" isnt really a very helpful statement to make.
