Unidentified pests!

In all my years gardening I have never seen these nor can I find anything about them anywhere, please help!
What I found were near-microscopic pests covering the leaves. Near microscopic meaning that to the naked eye they just look like tiny slivers on the leaves. Under the microscope they look like some sort of larvae except that they never morph into anything more than slugs with front limbs or feelers that they use to move. It is the craziest thing! The leaves of affected plants look kind of rough, covered in these slivers and they curl under clawlike a lot like a N deficiency. Any ideas?

sounds like it might be Thrips.

Damage can be seen by greenish black specks of there poop they leave on leaves. Also the plants will show silver patchs from scar tissue. Depending on the severity, thrip damage might look like spider mite damage untill it increases in damage and then thrips case is for sure when you see the greenness replace with big parts of white.
The color yellow attracts the thrips and should be advised not to have this color around your grow, If you already have them using neem oil, and or lady bugs can get rid of them. If the infestation is bad then you need to use biological solution like, pyrethrin-like insecticides.

you can also use Hot Pepper Wax,Safer Yard & Garden Insecticide (which can be used right to the day of harvest),GNATROL( used in hydro in the water as well as soil),Doc's Neem Pest Soap,Safer Sticky Stakes,TR-11000 Pyrethrum.

Thank you for the useful tips! They aren't thrips though. They aren't bugs, they are like slug things with no legs but feelers in the front which they use to move. We killed them with safer soap and tobacco juice but they came back! Actually, they originally came from another garden that I visit. Without knowing what they are and where they breed etc. I don't know the best way to eradicate them.
