  • the plants seem healthy besides the weird shaped growth and brown spots. all of the new guys are doing great but one of them is also developing a little brown. The lights have never been close enough to do any damage. I have not been able to check the ph level of the water but i have been letting it sit out over night and adding 3/4 tbs of molasses per gallon. they all seem happy but the two bigger guys have slowed their growth upwards and was thinking of upsizing pots. should i do all some or none. I have about 400w of cfl power on a 24h light schedule so far. very confused with the weird growth and brown spots. any advice or help is appreciated!!

What dirt/nutes you using? The cfl's are great
the first week or 2 but after that you'll need HID
lighting MH for veg and HPS for flowering~

adding 3/4 tbs of molasses per gallon.............

stop.
Yeah ^ you don't need to be adding molasses at all right now (this could be your problem). Plus don't use tinfoil, it makes hot spots and *could* burn your plant. I don't think he needs to replant them right now..they still have some space to grow. I would just fill the rest of the pot up with soil when the leaves get above the rim. You will want to trasplant them in a few weeks tho.

Don't feed seedling anything...not even molasses...
But I know what the issue is I think..those little pots..I got 2 with the GO Box, and they just sucked...like they dry out too fast and I just didn't like them...anyway I would look at getting them into their actual pots, and then just keep watering only when the pot they are in gets feather light...the only way I can get those little stringy seems to be peat or coco cups to work is if I put the plant in the organic pot cup thing, then put the pot thing on top of a cup of water...I have to treat them like super passive hydro to get them to do a whole lot for me...easier for me to use solo cups...but for real, try putting them in larger pots of soil and then water thoroughly..then don't water again til the new pot is totally light..I bet those babies will double in size in a week.

I am not talking about transplanting either..I am saying just drop the whole tiny pot and all into a larger pot of soil...those little squiggle cup things suck.

great advice guys !!!! thanks!! I went out and bought some six inch pots. here is the question should i transplant into pot or just put those lil pots in and surround with soil. i ask because i went out and got a lot more perlite was about 7% in old mix but wanted to up that to 25-30% but if i do not transplant the perlite will all be on the outside of those little cups. as for the molasses i was told if has some of the vital nuts and the sugar helps photosynthesis and the bud taste a little sweeter. i have not started any nut or feeding but am open to suggestion. and if i up the watts of cfl could they still work for the whole cycle or do i absolutely need better lights.

You will need better lights. As for the molasses, its really only useful when your plants hit the flowering stage. I would say transplant if your going to add more perlite.
