Did a lot of research on this and came across tomato, corn, and I think cucumber experiments. Same nutes, but one had urine as the additive... Unfiltered, diluted, urine. In all studies the urine plants produced a higher yield... But that's not to say that you can't find a product better. Also found out that a single humans urine with no other nutes or additives can produce 2 1/2 tons of tomatoes per year and I think 11 acres (recalling from memory) of wheat

He might actually be right... Ammonia converts to nitrates and eventually nitrites with bacteria it would take a few weeks for the population to build but the same principle applies in aquariums. Fish excrete ammonia which is highly poisonous to fish thats why you have to "cycle" it and get bacteria in it to convert the ammonia out. Im still not pissing on my plants though I would rather not smoke it

Really guys, from someone who has taken more than my fair share of science courses, I wish you would listen to PurpleBuz. His point was well outlined and accurate. Urine is NOT sterile, it is acidic, and VERY salty.

While it is true that it has been used HIGHLY diluted (not 1 to 1) as a nitrogen fertilizer for eons, we have way better choices available to us. If you want to have cheap, readily available fertilizer all the time, set a good sized flow through earth worm farm.

Is virgin piss better? I would assume so.

Jeff.....your analogy actually explains why you DON'T want to pee directly on the plants. The fish excrement is highly diluted in the tank and fish go through massive shock during full water change outs. Shops will give you detailed instructions on how to properly start a tank so that you don't kill the fish with ammonia poisoning. Essentially the fish water is highly diluted/partially decomposed urine that is preinoculated with micro colonies - ready to slowly release the nitrogen into the plant.

Indagrow. "Virgin pee" as in you drink your pee? No, don't tell me....I don't want to know. Urine has HIGH salt contents, pathogens/poisons your body has filtered out through the kidneys, and is acidic, and the nitrogen is NOT bio-available to the plant. Ammonium is NOT a good nitrogen source.

You will most likely kill your plants from salt lock-out before the nitrogen fixing bacteria can change it into nitrites and then nitrates. Set up an earthworm farm or even take a lidded bucket up to a local coffee shop and ask them to save coffee grounds for you. Left over coffee grounds contain LOTS of nitrogen.

Piss may have been good for plants at one point. But now with all the crap you eat and drink. Fluoride, chlorine, chloramine, and pharmaceuticals in the drinking water. All the antibiotics pumped into the animals we eat. Not to mention all the processed food we eat; bread, pasta, all snack foods. Our waste is very contaminated by heavy metals, pharmeceuticals, and possibly disease.

They have composting toilets now and every single one you see or any book you read about it will tell you not to put that on edible crops, and it isn't just because people think it is gross.

I can beleive how utterly stupid and gullible people can be.
