US abstains in UN vote to end Israeli settlements

Yes, I'm still having trouble with the Christian premise of an all powerful god needing to have a son die on planet earth so those that believe can have forgiveness for their sins. Can you explain the logic of that to me?

But I am down for the presents, big fun for the kids.

Wasn't so people like you can act like total a pos, and still be forgiven?

Exactly. Our blind support of Israel renders the rest of our foreign policy useless. How the fuck can we chastise other countries for human rights violations while supporting the biggest offender at the same time??
Please use "thread tools" to fix the title

Seems like an all powerful god could have accomplished that with a snap of his fingers.

Suggest you toke up, your hatred is showing.

Hate, lol. Aren't you the one suggesting people of other religions give up their own beliefs and constitutional right, sure dude. Jesus would not be impressed, tsk tsk.

I'm not picking on some Jews, I am picking on most Israeli Jews, that have chosen a PM that has publically stated there will never be a Palestine under his watch. He is the longest serving PM in the history of Israel, and has overwhelming support by the Jews in Israel, if not the world.
That's who, or what I have a problem with.
And going back to genocide, what would you call the bombing of Gaza, and the death toll of over a thousand women and children?
I call that genocide, if not outright murder.
I much prefer to separate those who would support an apartheid state from the religion they say they practice.

It's murder. It isn't genocide, but it still violates damn near every tenet of human rights, including forced relocation and illegal appropriation of land.

It isn't a binary thing. There are degrees. But I have never been comfortable with it either. Too many repressive regimes under the Cold War system - and yet we now miss it's stability.
The Chinese character for 'crisis' is a combination of two others; the ones for 'danger' and 'opportunity'.

Dear Jews and Muslims,

I ask that you reject your religious beliefs and accept Jesus into your hearts so we can all celebrate Christmas together. There are presents from Santa Claus so it is a good deal for everyone.

Peace,
Bugeye
On behalf of all of us who aren't Christians, fuck you and your theocentric attitude.

Peace means finding ways to get along with people who are different than you. Maybe you should try a little harder.

The Cold War ended 20 years ago. They owe us far more than we owe them, and the way they repay us sucks.
And the relationship between our countries has been changing ever since. The UN abstention is a good example of it. I expect things will change - because Hillary was in bed with Jew bankers apparently.

I read an article the other day that suggested that a full 50% of Israeli citizens do not support settlements in occupied territory.

Not unlike America, the govt there isn't always representative of its citizens.
Then why vote, overwhelmingly for Netanyahu, who has expanded settlement activity by over 70%in the last 5 years.
I'm confused.

Long overdue and not nearly fast enough to avoid damaging our reputation in the region, but at least it's something.
