VEG:18 20 24 hour? someone convince me!

I personally used to veg with 18/6 because I thought it would save money but in the long run I found out that 24/0 is the way to go because it cuts down on the time the plant spends in vegging. That's my 2 cents :)

Depends. Personally...18/6 worked best for me. Some strains do like alot of light while others will grow great with less light time. Find a medium that;'s best for you and your plants...try the 24/7 way then try the 18/6 way, no one can convince you of anything unless you try it yourself.

Ive done all my plants on 24/0 and have had no problems so far. From seed to 12/12 is exactly 30 days. Plants get about a foot tall but have between 9-12 nodes. Each yielded at least 1 oz of straight dank buds. I believe that 24/0 forces the nodes to be as close as they can possibly get for whatever light setup you are using. Plus the veg time is shorter. 24 hours a day for 30 days is 720 hours of on time. 18 hours a day will require more veg time. 18 hours x 40 days is 720 hours of on time. All your doing is spreading out the time the plants need to veg, which also spreads out node spacing. I would only see the point if mayb you were running 2000w+ and the electric bill was looking kind of shady.

24 hour light cycle will increase male %. or so my grow bible tells me. i went with 18/6 and my nodes are tightly packed in there... NO stretching. oh and use daylight spectrum for your veg cycle to keep stretching at bay.

24/7 no need for timers.... tighter nodeing, faster growth,

but essentially more males from seed (theory only)

FROM CLONE 24/7 is the only way to go IMO...

if you spent a buku amount on your dank seeds then
FROM SEED 20/7 is best IMO...

but if you arent worried about throwin out half ouf the plants, stick to 24/7

I am pretty sure that 24/0 producing more males than females is a loud of crap, but that's just in my own experience. I had a setup of 7 seeds, 6 of those were female from 24/0 maybe I just got lucky though?

I thought it was the genes. If the seed was male or female. Not the lighting. Am I wrong? Can a plant turn into a male because of lighting? I have not heard of that but I am new at this.

From what I understand there is only 1 thing that effects female/male and that's abuse to the plant, I've seen that it can produce hermies. Other than that I'd say anything else is just a myth....

Don't know about the male % thing...but i had the same results with 18/6...less then 1/4" space between nodes.\

The male and female traits are in genetics...BUT...a female CAN become a hermie with too much stress.

yea im pretty sure the seeds have m/f genes. and thats how you can get feminized seeds because they take the time to check each one under a microscope or something right??

Good to know. I wondered about the 24/0 lighting. That is not how they would grow in nature. I can see why that might Jack with your plants. I am doing 18/6 because that is what I have been told by so many people who have grow longer than me.

i always use 24/0 for the first 2 weeks , just to establish a nice root system & a solid foundation ,, then i switch to 18/6 until i decide to flower

seeds dont come male or female. sex is isnt determined until the first real set of leaves... and YES 24/7 will make more males than 18/6. regardless of what peoples personal experiances are i'm gonna stick with what jorge cervantes grow bible. Im mean come on this guy has grown more plants than eveyone on this site COMBINED!!!!!
