hey ppl,

im a first time grower and was wondering if i should take clones before i induce flowering? is it possible to tell wether a plant is male or female before flowering?
also, im under the impression that you can induce flowering after any amount of time eg. 1 month 2 months etc. is this true??

please help

There are two basic schools of thought on that. Some say find out what your plants sex is and then take clones and others say take clones and let them get a good early start and mark which plants they came from and when you find what ones came from females toss the others but that way the females clones have a head start and will be closer to planting time than if you wait so you speed up your grow.

Now if you are limited in space so you cannot take as many clones and tend to them while waiting to see what sex they are then wait and see what the plants sex is and then take closes but if not close away but just mark them so you know which came from what plants and then you can toss the male close along with the male plants, unless you are going to keep the most vibrant male to use to make seeds, and then grow out your female close that have a head start.

That is one opinion but one I would subscribe to if I grew from clones.

I cloned a 5 ft. "female" all that BS, She was a He, wasted time, & damn embarrassing. It's more difficult to clone after the flowering process, says 90% ppl. You can do a 12/12 light on one branch, like covering it with a thick wool sock for 12 hours per 24, which will show you the sex, and go from there.
