Vegetative Reproduction (cloning) VS. Seed Reproduction

Growing from seed may result in only a 25% success rate whereas growing clones by vegetative reproduction means 100% success assuming the original plant you started with was the best weed you have ever smoked.

A Seed May Be
  • A male plant
  • A female plant, but of poor quality
  • A good female plant which becomes a hermaphrodite
Each of these 3 ultimately prove to be a waste of time and energy.
  • A good female plant i.e. sinsemilla

Vegetative reproduction (cuttings, slips, clones) has been used as an aid in developing strains with some very pure characteristics, consistently. It has become a the favorite way for growers, and it is giving the growers fountains of botanical information even at this moment.

The only possible problem with cuttings, slips, clones, is that whatever defect one clone plant will hav,its sister clones will all have that same vulnerability, be it a disease, or infestation by any pest that es a liking to it. Just be careful when selecting a mother.

The clone is like creating a super race but whatever will destroy one will absolutely destroy the rest. in a clone there is no variation in the gene pool to aid evolution through adaption to varying elements in a plant's environment.

Suffice to say, a desirable high quality marijuana plant clone grown under excellent conditions will contually produce the optimum in quality marijuana.
