Vegging...I have some questions.

Im going to be veggin my plants indoors before I throw them out into the wild. I have limited time that I can have the light on my plants. Probably like 10 hours which suckkkss. Ive heard 16 hours the recomended amount of time you want a light on the plant during vegging. These plants are gunna be indoors for only a month and a half at most. I just dont want them to stretch and die, I have mylar to sorround them and im going to be purchasing a florescent shop light. Probably a t8.

Can i get away w/ this...? or is this going to be a failure...?

thumbs down. you'll need at least 16 hr. of light. a small cfl would work. Why only 10 hr a day. by the way 12/12 is lighting for flowering.

sounds like you might be in the south if your talking about putting plants outside....

If i were doing it i'd just run the lights as long as possible, and when the time comes , I'd have some deep holes with good medium, and organic nutes... plant them water them once and come back in a couple weeks to check on them. depending on where you are it might rain quite often.

- damn, I live up in newengland. I am growing in a small closet, I have parents that know I smoke pot and alow me to smoke in there house but I would hate to have them see a light running. There is a good 10 hours when there is nobody around. I think I might say F' it and if they find it then I will tell them that it will be out in a month. I can cover this closet so that there is no light leak. They let plants grow in my window cill for 4 months. But I dont think they would like the fact that there is a light on when there not around.

I got seeds coming in this week and I'd hate to see them stretch and die.

I hope to start them indoors in mid march and have them out by the end of april... I will figure something out...

10 hours of light will trigger flowering, need minimum 16 hours for most strains, preferably 18/6-24/0 hours ... BUT ... I do have a little tricky trick you can use, 6/6 is actually a veg cycle, you'd have to have you plants on 6/6 twice a day, obviously, to make up the 24 hours a day consists of, but it is an option to use.
Note: Plants vegging under 6/6 will veg slower than plants under 16+ hours light.

not going to work. i wouldnt recommend anything less than 18hr of light a day. if you cant do that you're going to be very dissapointed and discouraged since you're going to trigger flowering really early using 10 hrs of light ASSUMING you dont kill them long before they even start to flower.

if you cant start right its not worth it to start.

Just find another hobby until you can provide the elements necessary to grow properly. Dont jeopordize your living situation
10 hours a day will make them flower like said before.

Not tru. 6/6 IS a veg cycle, so that will work, but yes the growth will be slow, however, it's a good way to keep the plants in a sense of 'suspended animation' until your ready to put them somewhere suitable.
The fact they don't grow a lot can be useful because it means you can use a small amount of space without running out of space.

... I do agree that you should at least suggest the idea to your parents to gauge their reaction. But I don't know your parents, if they think logically (which a lot of people don't - especially if they've been 'brainwashed'' by the government) try telling them how it's safer because you know what goes into it so can't be laced with chemicals, also you don't have to deal with 'dangerous' dealers of gangs to get it, and you can be proud that your smoking something that, to an extent, helped to create.

Cheers!

P.S - Man, I lived with my parents into my early 20's, it's all good, my plan was to pay off my car and safe up a good 10 grand before I moved out so I'd be set to go. If you stay at home and make no effort toward anything, than that's a bit slack, but unfortunately no worse than the majority of the youth today haha :)

I guess if Im not able to use the light Ill just put the seed right in the ground...This is gettin done somehow. I rather not waste the seeds on something that aint gunna work.

16 hours is a good amount of time. Im gunna make this happen.

- yea man, i got a job and and a little hobby, its ridiculous money and I cant afford a place for myself, I need to hook up w/ a roomate who has a stable cash flow. Ill move out when the times right.
