Venting 3x1000k?

Ok been running 2x1000k lights with an 6000k window banger a/c unit for cooling in a 8x9 flower room{filter>hood>hood>fan out of the inclosed room in to the basment}So just put in a third 1000k light so the ac isnt getting temps down enough{83f lights on]...im gonna get a bigger ac but for the the time being would it be better to run a closed loop sucking the cool air throught the lights fan in to the basment?just worried about pulling moist air..ie,rain,humidity,snow..through the hoods and screwing up my bulbs...im thinking a 10,000btu ac will do the trick i know it around 3500btu per 1000k of light but its almost there witha smaller unit.i know this is long winded so thanks for input fellas..the mad man

you will benefit greatly from seperating your light cooling system from your room environmental controls. why suck your ac out of the room? you may not need to replace the ac. our rooms are very similar in size and lights.
 
thanks for the input..yes air cooled xxl hoods..and i agree with sucking the ac out isnt good,,,in the summer i run a closed loop venting but here in the north wanting to reuse the hot air from the hoods back in to the main part of the basment...my real question is the sucking air from out side through the hoods worried about the condensation coming across the the bulbs...

my rooms are in a basement garage and in winter i run the loop in the garage instead of using my outside vents. it keeps the garage at a much nicer temp.
 
so your set up is garage air>hoods>fan>exhuast in the house or outside?..more past posts i read im not gonna drag artic cold air in through my hoods and bulbs...i guess i could pull from the far part of the basment an exhust in the other side of the basment away from the intake..

Condensation occurs when hot air comes in contact with a cold surface. Here, we have cold air coming in contact with a hot surface. No condensation. FWIW, I run my lights on a closed loop drawing (external) cold air. Good luck.

bullshit. the reason i run my loop in the garage in winter is because the huge amount of condensation i get when i draw the COLD air from outside.

Out of sheer curiosity, can you please cite the "law of physics" that allows condensation to form on a hot surface? I'm not doubting that you, or whoever else, may come across condensation issues. Not understanding how the process works won't help. Cold glass of soda on a hot day, condensation forms on the cold glass. Hot glass of tea on a cold day, no condensation on the glass.

What is condensation?

All air contains a certain amount of invisible water vapour and warm air can 'carry' more water vapour. If warm air comes into contact with a cold surface, the air 'gives up' its water as droplets on the surface. If you wear glasses you will know what happens when you come into a warm house from the cold outside. The same effect can be seen on a bathroom mirror when you have a hot bath - warm moisture-laden air chills on contact with the cold surface. This process can occur anywhere in the home.

cold, humid air coming into a hot dry environment then meeting the glass in the reflectors which has a cooler temp than, now hot moist air, and condensation will rapidly build on glass. i also have my intake ducting that would collect condensation. what i am saying is basically you make a statement that is not correct.

uh why not crack a window and let some of that cool arctic air in to cool the room rather than the AC? then just feed the light exhaust back into the room?

Throw a thermostat on an in line fan that sucks air from outside into the room when the temp gets above X degrees and turns off when temp gets below X degrees? Then just input/output air for the bulbs from/back into the room.
 
i had been reading a ton of past post and the majority says artic air through the lights is not good...As far as shooting artic air in the room im not gonna shower the heavy flowing ladys with humidity and in turn PM...will just get a bigger A/c unit and go back to the closed loop ventaltion..thanks for the input fellas..

Cold humid air, when warmed, becomes warm dry air, even though it has the same absolute content of water vapor. Lamps are hot and are poor candidates for condensation. The only way you can get condensation in a lamp hood is if you are introducing warmer air whose dew point exceeds the temp of a surface in a hood or lamp. cn

Considering that, at equilibrium, the lamp's envelope is at hundreds of degrees, I can't see a disadvantage to using cooling air that is at fifteen degrees v. (say) eighty-five.
The very cold cooling air can have other issues, though, like condensation onto the intake duct from house or grow-space air, where the dew point will be higher. cn

I thought weed was suppose to chill people out, obviously SuperStoner has no issues and works rather, well he was just stating what he does... plain and simple.

If we put as much effort as trolling on derailed threads as making educated informative posts to questions we all be too stoned and too well off.

Sad most can't see this.
