venting exhaust out a fake window unit .......

Basically what the title says ..... Just figured i would toss the idea out and see what kind of holes ya'll can shoot in my plan ....... I mean it makes sense to me to try and mask the heat as something else

just get one of the portable AC window kits .....they have holes already for exhausting the portable AC...keep the shades down and carbon filter fresh u got no worries

as for the AC unit it would work only until someone got close ........we all know the sound of a active window shaker ...without that hum and vibration to touch it would be simple hop skip and jump to this is camo for something going on in the cop mind ....but it would work for anyone more then 10 feet away

I'd add to the above comment by saying it's a great spoof for aerial thermal imaging. Because it's not paranoia if they really are using military hardware to get you!

i live near a military base just tossing that out there ............. just having serious issues with the 104f weather we been having ......... it was really just for thermal

honestly the power company choppers that they use to check the power lines / insulators have the big bad ass zoom thermal camera's and they are all buddy buddy in cahoots with LEO

change all ducting out to insulted ducting ....ir block the ceiling ....ir block the walls (just enough to hide the lights)
do u have a window that is blocked by a bush

i countered my issues by using a window shaker for the room and next to it is a blacked out panel with a blacked out softe vent (the ac is one of those blows air out sides back top ) ......but i have a big bush blocking the window..... so the AC is cooling the room and the carbon filter is dumping out the hottest air

my closet stays around 75 with a air cooled hood house is around 68-70 usually ....... flower room is harder to keep cool though its the furthest away from the central unit ...... not worried about smell or noise if some one were to wander around they would have to jump a gate and walk 300' or so before they would be able to tell ....... im sure one of the dogs would of noticed them by then

so i figured id vent the 1k out the window using fresh air and leaving the scrubber venting back in the room ...... so really just the hood exhaust would be venting there

im really just worried about what it looks like from the outside those portable unit vents look like a vent still and may add suspicion if they are already watching the area ....... i was gonna take the front off of a old unit and blow the exhaust through the outside coil ..... so if for some reason i am scanned then it just is wrote off as a window unit since thats what it looks like

Pretty damm good idea.. Have you considered other routes of hot air exhaust?.. Dryer vent, sewer cleanout plug.. etc.?.. Might save you some time instead of fabricating an AC facade

this room is pretty far away from any stuff like that ..... the sewer is actually a septic system so dont think ill be venting into that .... i just thought window unit because i was looking at one that doesnt work in the shed and had a stoner moment

Sounds good to me, I'm all for recycling. Ive run into trouble with intake/exhaust vents pokin out a window

dryer vent. How could anyone know where your dryer is? You could even shove some fabric softener sheets in there for the correct smell

This is a thread of mine from a few months ago, i live in a second story apt. Lots of ways to do it but i hope this helps.
