Venting Idea

Ok Ive noticed my temp is staying a lil too high around 83. I know heat rises so the best place to vent is the top. But my girl friends says I cant cut holes in the ceiling of our rent house "which honestly is not a good idea anyway". So I was thinking of takeing the light bulb fixture off the ceiling and venting through that but there is a blue ceiling box mount. My question is whats on the back side of that blue box? Can i break the box in the middle and put like a pc exhaust fan there? Or is there important stuff on the outside of the box I can't see? Is this a good idea or just dumb? Remember this is my first grow so if its dumb just say so. Thx for any answers or any other possiple suggestions on what to do.:peace:

errr, not a good idea, by pouting the hole above the electrical box for the ciling light you expose it to the rain/snow= electricity and water= fire= bust and 10k in legal fees ....not good...to have an anprotected hole on top of your grow room is not the best idea...

that goes to the roof you will not open up a hole to the outside. The box is there to support the weight of light fixtures. If it's screwed in remove it but I would not recommend breaking it unless you plan on replacing it be for you move. You wouldn't want the light to fall out of the ceiling when the landlord is doing a walk through.

Oh and if you do remove it be sure to put some wire nuts on those wires. You don't want to burn the place down.

Ok in the pic there are 5 tabs where the wires are supposed to come in. I forced these tabs open and it revealed insulation on top. My question is if I pushed the insulation away and mounted an pc exhaust fan would that vent enough to keep the temp down?

a pc fan wont probly wont be enough. thats a 200 cf room. you need to change all the air at least once ever 3 minutes for optimum fresh air. more if your temps are high. i would say once a minute for you. you will need a 200 cfm inline fan suckin air out of the room. u could rig it up to blow/suck out of that hole tho somehow.
