vermicompost

well hows it going
was just wondering what storage methods some of yous use for storing your vermicompost after harvest
how long does it stay active after the worms are taken out?

I used air tight containers and had it last for a pretty long time until I used it.
I'm not positive, but I don't think it goes bad.

Yea, store it in an airtight container. As far as it staying active...all I can say for sure is that when you add the compost to soil, or brew it in a tea after it's been in a sealed container, it's immediately becomes active. It's compost, so one way or the other stuff is going to want to grow on it and in it as soon as it's exposed to air.
And with my worm compost, even after the worms have migrated away from it there are still some little bugs and stuff in it...and I'd rather seal those buggers up without oxygen before adding it to a soil mix.
