Vero29 Gen 7 Type B in parrallel?

Is there any problem running three Vero29 Gen 7 Type B in paralllel?

I had read a thread about someone talking about Vero's not being binned and therefore the voltages could be too far apart/different with each COB to be run in parallel?

If I run this set up with an HLG-320H-54 will it run the COBs at 54V or 52V?

no manufacturers bin for forward voltage (or if they do test Vf, they chick the out of spec ones)

look at the spec sheet, they should list the tolerances

What is Bin referring to then?
It is the color output correct? I was thinking of this wrong before now.

I am looking at the spec sheet for the new type B gen 7 Vero29 and do not see the tolerance on voltages.
I am not sure it is going to matter in the end?
They should be close enough to run them (I am assuming)?

So my question is, If I run them with the HLG-320H-54, will it push the COBs at 54V all the time?
Or should I get the C version driver, so I can adjust voltage down to 52V?

cobs run at different intensity based on current, voltage follows along. you can only run a cob at 54V if youre running it at teh corresponding current

that said a hlg-320h-54 will blow up a single chip

this is why you need to do a video or post a chart on your site,to show new builders how to use the shitzen cobs in para as well as how to adjust drivers for dif chip counts ect. i bet you would sell more stuff if more people knew how to use it.its very hard and confusing for people to get an understanding on para wiring around here.the growmau5 videos made series wiring very easy to understand ,do, and help others with.chop chop !!

nobodys stopping you from makin a vid ;)

while i personally am a proponent of parallel, theres certainly nothing stopping people from using every chip i have on site in series setups using the fundamentals in growmau5's vids

i stock all sorts of constant current drivers for series operation, and if people have questions they email me.

and i try to help out others where i can, like here, regardless of if they are a customer or not, vids are somewhere around that priority level right now :bigjoint:

I understand the HLG-320H-54 will blow up a single chip because of the amperage. (which drives voltage)

But it will run 3x 52V Vero29's in parallel correct?

At max drive it would run at 1.983Amps and 54V correct?

The Vero's can't handle this?

I see where it does say the Veros are not recomended in parallel.

So if in Series which driver would you recomend?
HLG-320H-C2100 or HLG-320H-C1750

I was wanting to run them on the 2100 (so I could turn them up later if I wanted)
but the max voltage for this driver is 154V
3x COBs in series @52V each is 156Volt.

Will the driver be ok or will it overload the driver?


Also, if using another brand COBs, is parallel not safer?
I thought this because it will run at lower voltages and amperage usually
(amperage divided out between COBs)

I answered most of your questions in your other post. I take it you a already bought your 3x 52v chips and are shopping for a driver correct? If not i gave you a few options to think about.

These chips ran @ 2.1 will be pulling closer to 53v. So I don't believe that driver will work properly.
