Very scary and odd dream I have had the last few days...

Okay, the only reason I am posting this in this particular section of the forums is because of the "religious" side of what this post is about.

The last few nights I have had a dream that is so real and frightening that I wake up from the dream sweating from not only my face but the bottoms of my feet...

I am standing in a house with very high ceilings and have the feeling that there is someone or something around me. Suddenly I am grabbed from the back of my shirt and thrown into the corner of the house. I get scared, obviously, and turn around to see what is holding me up in the air. When I turn around there is a Cross (like the one Jesus was on).... I then wake my self up. I have even went back to sleep right after the dream and suddenly I am in the same scenario.

Anyone ever had a dream similar to this? Maybe just the being pulled or thrown feeling? I have to say that ever since I was a young child, I have had very intense, realistic and visual dreams.

..."chief cornerstone" comes to mind pretty quick. The "stone that the builders rejected" also. So, what is that? It will be what it is to you. Careful of the myriad definitions, gets confusing. House is always associated with psyche. The 'pull' you felt is magnetism - 'foundational'. Important dream, imo...you're lucky to have it. It points toward the subconscious mind. Do you ever get pulled toward something and afterward think "why'd I do that??".

There are a few types of dreams that we can interpret with at least a little amount of accuracy, but only based on what the mass majority of what people experience. For example, most people claim that dreams about your teeth falling out is caused by hidden stress due to being self conscious about the way you look physically.

It's extremely hard for someone else to interpret your dreams, and almost never accurate because other people aren't you, nor do they have the same thoughts and predispositions as you do either. The only way you can really interpret your dreams is by searching yourself for the answers, and even then the answers we come up with or give ourselves might be wrong.

In my mind, from how you describe the dream to me... would be that the very high ceilings represent how small you feel sometimes. As you are grabbed from behind and thrown into the corner that may represent a feeling of a loss of control in your life, doubts of some sort... fallowed by being in the corner may have something to do with you feeling as if you are trapped in your life, or in a certain situation. Maybe when you gather enough courage to look and see what is holding you up and making you feel these feelings is the cross itself.

Have you been doubting any of your religious or supernatural beliefs lately?

These are just guesses though, and i could be completely wrong. I've suffered from sleep paralysis and night terrors in the past, so i know how scary and real some dreams can seem. The best we can do is try to conquer our fears and face them head on regardless of how scared we may be.

I have been having apocalypse dreams of meteorites. The most vivid dreams I have ever had.
I've been having those too. Extremely vivid.
In one I was wearing a Gas mask. And another I seen a missile falling and started running. Another one with a planet crashing into us.
But honestly they all were so vivid and colorful... it seemed beautiful..

I've had dreams where I've been running from a 'presence' that I never get to see. Very intense and vivid. At times I've woken myself up during a dream, but been so scared I've been unable to move for minutes.

I thought I was going to just sound crazy saying it, what with 2012 craze and fears abounding right now. I have had the planet crashing into us dream also and also missiles, only in the last couple months and extremely vivid, the most vivid dreams I have ever had. I always wake up from them suddenly with my heart pounding.

Anyway, sorry, I wasn't trying o thread jack, so I'll chime on what I get from your experience.

It seems you are probably somewhat conflicted about faith and religion. Maybe you have some ontological questions. Maybe something is bubbling under the surface in your psyche that needs to be given it's chance to be examined.

I had the most impressive dream once. We were all in a fancy glazed vacation apartment on the east Coast, and inland the missiles were launching and tipping north. The emotion of the dream was ... funereal.

Once when I was not yet two (!) I had a lucid dream at night. A white dot came slowly toward me, resolved into a circle and then a ball ... and then the moon, with craters, rolling. It went through my upper left portion. It was a super-realistic rendition of a lunar body, and the part I cannot easily relate was the absolute bone-chilling terror that I felt. I have a few very very old memories, and that is one. cn

I also have a few memories reaching far into the early formative years when my brain should not have been developed enough for me to remember. There is a memory that exists in my mind which I attribute to an experience and it may have been my birth. The memory is vivid and only a fragment but I can recall it in both vision and sound. There are several memories similar to this which are only fragments and probably because there was no basis for them to make any sense but I don't feel that they are as early as this one. I was able to "explore" them quite clearly while under the influence of mescaline.

I get alot of dreams of extremely bad weather in the like of dark clouds, tornadoes, tidal waves, maelstroms,,really unsettling stuff. But as to multi-part dreams ive had one in particular that was 3 parts i woke from it twice only to go back into it again, was a rather vivid and dark dream.Never experienced so much as being thrown around or the like but ive experienced a perpetual slowness in a few of the dreams ive had, that no matter how i try to break from it,I only move slower as im trying to reach for some destination, really crazy.

I very definitely have a memory of my birth. I did not know it was that, of course ... until at the age of seven I relayed the whole thing to my mama, who made me tell the delivering doctor. They were both impressed. cn

I find my diet has a lot to do with my dreams, the best ones (with colors so vibrant hey seem to breath and give off oder) that wake me up sweating and heart racing seem to happen after eating Broccoli Beef and drinking White Zin.

It's been awhile, I cant remember the last time I had one of those dreams, it's been years.

I think this is a good example of an experience that one can gain knowledge from that can not be scientifically verified. Should you therefore deny it since that is what skepticism demands?

I think our debate from another thread veered into this thread.

I will say this: since there is nothing either supernatural or intrinsically hard to believe about such a memory, I have no reason to declare it false.

The time I met God at 18, though ... I find wiser to consider as a meeting with a not-usually-accessed compartment of deep me. cn

Now explain the difference between the two because I don't see it.

I have had a handful of dreams, some prophetic, that cannot be rationally explained. I'd had that dream with the falling/pulling feeling you are talking about but it was a completely different situation. I thought I woke up, I hoped out of bed and as soon as I stood up I was sucked back to bed and THEN I woke up, it was so realistic. Outer body experience? I think all dreams are.
