I've tried to look for some reviews on most of the individual components of this "package" and it seems like quality gear. Seeing as how I'm new to cannabis cultivation I thought it would be prudent to ask for others opinions tho

Suggestion: before dropping around $1300 plus shipping on a tent package, do some window shopping first and see what you can get the components for. I had an 8'x8' tent that I paid less than $200 for but that was just the tent and it worked well. Also a 1200 watt lighting system may prove to be much more of a problem than 2 600 watt units and cost less to run. Be smart, be thrifty.

solid gear... way overpriced...

you can piece that whole thing together on Amazon for about $800 and end up with double the bulbs....

I would get two of these : http://www.amazon.com/iPower-Premium-Dimmable-Digital-Reflector/dp/B002TNDCVK/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1362767464&sr=8-2&keywords=600W+MH+HPS+ipower
those light setups come with ballast, base, 2 bulbs (MH & HPS) a timer, vented hood, 'yo-yo hangers' to lower and raise and protective glass.
.....one of these : http://www.amazon.com/600D-Reflective-Hydroponics-Mylar-8x4x6/dp/B006LRRXBA/ref=sr_1_2?s=lawn-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1362767564&sr=1-2&keywords=8x4x6+grow+tent
I'll spare everyone the pain of me posting all the links to the duct, filters etc...easily about $200 more...

side note: the 500W lamps put out more lumen per watt than the 1000W ...easier to temp control too!

Thanks for the input guys. My main concern was that some of the supplies themselves might be subpar but I've looked at reviews on various sites for most of the individual pieces and I haven't found much negative and a lot of positive reviews. I understand that I'm paying a little extra for convenience but frankly I'll pay a little extra to save spending hours online tracking down better prices on good equipment and dealing with multiple vendors and shipments etc.

I'm really wanting to do quality grows right out of the gate so I'm trying to get quality materials to work with. So, I thought a good start would be getting this "kit" + a 3rd 600w light set up (basically the kit as described with 3 x 600w hps instead of 2). Then I will try to figure out the most practical and cost effective way to add co2 into the mix.

I haven't grown yet, but like you, you I was going to buy a ready made package. What I found is that it was a lot cheaper to make a list of what you need, and then shop around. I just spent under $1,100 so far (including shipping), and got 2 4x4 tents, canlite filter, 2 fan speed controllers, insulated ducting, 530cfm duct fan, 1000w ballast light kit/package, and a 600w ballast light kit/package all for less than what you're about to spend for before shipping for that package.... Lucky the people on this forum stopped me before I made that mistake. Plus with buying to light packages, I got 2 hps and 2 mh light bulbs...

It's your money though. I could get everything in that package for under 1k... Probably even around $800-$900.... You can get quality stuff without paying for the brand name too you know.

One more thing, I got a good price and free shipping on most of my items... I bet they'll going to charge you almost an extra $150-200 for that package... Looks more like a ripe off than a convenience.

i want the solis tec's they are the best ballasts out right now well digital at least. the tent is nice, buddy has one. i want to get a gorilla they seem to be the best(thicker, better seams), mine is from htg and is more than good and was like 200 buxs, to be honest you could get better price if you went to a hydro shop they are selling at max profit online it seems. it is all nice shit though i wouldn't turn any of it down. i spent alot less and the only thing i plan on changing is the ballasts after i get some cash.

i would spend the time finding better prices and get some beans from the tude or whoever you trust with the g you save. thats a lot of beans even if you get a few $200 packs. most packs i get are 60ish that 16 ten packs not counting the freebies. thats my 2 cents

I appreciate everyone's input!
I do realize that I could piece together a better overall price on the individual parts but I'm not finding that to be the case for the specific parts in this kit. I prefer to research and check as many reviews on products as possible before pulling the trigger on significant purchases - my research into tents led me to a lot of positive reviews of the secret jarden darkroom tents. Pricing the tents led me to the vendor in question and their prices, across the board, are competitive with (and in many cases cheaper than) any other one store I've found.

Now, if any of you know where I can get THIS kit or something VERY comparable for 800-900 please feel free to post a link or pm me ;-)

Thanks again for yalls feedback...

The price is high because of the namebrands. Solistek ballasts are intense, seen quite a few in the industry lately. DR tents are well known and reputable aswell. I'd go quality over price any day.
