I believe America uses 110v and were i am uses 240v.
Is one more efficient than the other? Can it effect light output?

We have 110 and 220v in America. The only difference is that the higher voltage circuit can supply twice the power on the same circuit.I believe America uses 110v and were i am uses 240v.

100% correct. There are no power savings to be had either way. You can run 2-1000W HIDs on 220 but only one on 110 tho you can plug lots of lower wattage things into the same circuit that the 110 plug is feeding the 1000W light. Oscillating fans, air pumps, exhaust fans etc can be plugged into the same 15amp 110v line your 1000W is on as long as you know what all the various device are rated at. On a double socket you can have the 1000W plug using one and a nest of plugs for small devices plugged into the other plug and still be below the breaker limit and not causing any problems at all.We have 110 and 220v in America. It doesn't affect output. If a 1000 watt lamp uses 10 amps on a 110 circuit it only uses 5 on a 220.
appliances like full size electric clothes dryers run only on 220 and use a different wall plug than 110 to differentiate.
