anyone not from cali is ignorant? do you need to be from cali to read and decipher a bill cali wrote? or to see the positve message it would send to the rest of the country?

sorry, this is pure FAIL

you are not good at explaining things, and you obviously feel you are above board rules. my message to you is (1) calm down, skippy and (2) try again at explainingwhy i am ignorant, using the verbiage in the bill to explain why i am so far off base. your move, sir
ok so i now think u just want this law passed so it will push for a marijuana law in your state. u dont have to live in cali to decipher the bill, but unless u live here, u dont know the situation or how stuff works now, and wont know how it will change things. if u dont know how the california medical marijuana program works, dont say this law is better than it.
ive been buyin weed from dispensaries for a few years now and i personally love the system the way it is now. if a cop stops me, i have the protection of a MEDICAL PATIENT thats allowed to possess his medicine. with this law, im just another joe shmoe pothead. and since its only a 1 ounce limit in the law, that drastically lowers the amount we can posses without getting hassled with. if its up to the discretion of the cop, i dont like it.

straight up man, i live in cali as well and i am a medical patient. i love the way things are right now, all the law will do is add taxes and endless hassles from law enforcement going into peoples business, which is clearly a doctor/patient privilege. Such as we are MEDICAL PATIENTS and proscribed MEDICINE from our DOCTORS.
Think what would happen if the cops just busted into your house and asked to see your medicine cabinet and count all your pills to see if you are over your recommended dosage.

Exactly. It's time to take back control of the legalization movement and put it back on track for sensible legalization and responsible industry building. Don't let the pessimists, cowards or traitors who say that this is our only chance or that we have to settle for piss-poor legislation. It's really time to start pushing for an end to cannabis discrimination.

and whats with the whole 'cant smoke in front of kids' thing? cannot smoke in any space where minors are present. hmmm. does that mean any city where a minor is u cant smoke? or just in the same house? what if theyre in another room? the word present is open to interpretation.

lets say u have a little nephew, say 15 years old. hes out in the living room watching tv. youre in your room, across the house smoking weed next to an open window(normally not illegal, were allowed to smoke in our home). Now lets say a cop walks by and sees your nephew in the window watching tv. then he smells a hint of weed coming from your window. he can walk into your house and arrest you because he interpretted the law as u cant smoke in the same house. who knows what present means? nobody...

btw heres a link thats probly better to use than the wikipedia one, even though i think its the same haha just happened across it http://www.sos.ca.gov/elections/ballot-measures/qualified-ballot-measures.htm

I believe that is a loop hole that law enforcement personal will use to be able to illegally search your house on the premise that he SAW you smoking technically anywhere near a minor.
So WHAT THE FUCK I CAN'T SMOKE IN MY ON HOUSE ANYMORE WITHOUT A SCOPE UP MY ASS!!
and i believe that they are using the children as a martyr to finally control marijuana.
All it would take, to set a limited distance to which you can smoke near a minor. but right now its not defined

of course you do, but what of the millions of responsible folks who continue to suffer under this insane prohibition. i'm sure you're satisfied with the benefits you're provided, but why are you so selfish that you'd deny those same benefits to the rest of us? better to fight the over-taxation on everything and the over-regulation of our daily lives than to choose this one commodity by denying it to everyone but those few.

It's really time to start pushing for an end to cannabis discrimination.
discrimination? this is a mind altering substance and any legalization is going to include regulation. this is a commodity and any legalization is going to include taxation.

dont get me wrong, im all for legalization. but if were gonna do it, lets do it right. lets not make the bill loosely worded so a select few people can control the whole market. this bill is very loosely worded. read it if u havent

yeah didnt think of that. what if we pass this, then theyre like oh this isnt exact enough, so then they change it to u cant smoke within 100 ft of a minor or something stupid like that

i've read it and noticed the many points that so concern you, but i see them as chances to expand on our freedoms instead of limiting them. there will be test cases, there always are when breaking new ground, and it will be up to the courts to decide whether the benefit of the doubt goes to the individual or to authority. the danger of laws that are too tightly woven is that there is no room to expand on the freedoms that the state continually seeks to limit. it will be up to the consumer to demand quality and diversity of product, these are not things we should expect the state to regulate for us.

i dont want the courts do decide. i want the law to decide for the courts, as it should. the courts just rule according to the law. The supply and demand curve should be based on supply and demand, not how much the government wants us to have. if i wana go out and buy a thousand pounds of corn, i can. so why not pot? if im an adult that can make decisions for myself, let me make my decision. i personally think we should wait it out and wait for someone thats not trying to profit from marijuana to write the law. but then again i dont want some politician writing it either lol

and that does it for me. this grasping at straws is too much. i try to point out the absurdity in shit like the post above me, and i get threatened to be banned? for what? being outspoken?

i was warned once for insults and toned it down. so what if i am a troll? is there any rule on this site against trolling? besides porn, most of the fun in the internet is trolling or laughing at trolls, sites like failblog and failbook would not exist otherwise.

this is my last post. i voluntarily call for a ban of me. when people call me ignorant for pointing out their misinterpretations of a simple law and I am the one who is threatened with a ban without insulting anyone, that is the line in the sand. i will let undertheice, abe23, and padawan do my speaking for me. i will let the doubters post all the imagined 'what if' scenarios without pointing out the absurdity in them.

the debates here are even more ridiculous than the ones on fox news or msnbc. pure insanity to even call this all a debate

Because that caters to the sober soccer moms and gets them to vote yes. They did this with tobacco too. The pharmaceutical companies put Disney up to slandering Big Bad Tobacco so they could get votes in the nineties.

in a perfect world you would get your wish, the law would be fair and the people wouldn't have to compromise to enjoy their freedoms. but i'm afraid this isn't a perfect world. government and special interests demand their pound of flesh, our natural rights are a commodity we must barter for and even the meaning of the word "is" is up for debate.

the vast majority of california voters have spent their entire lives laboring under the misconceptions of reefer madness propaganda and it is a near miracle that 19 is as lenient as it is. should it pass, there will be challenges and the courts will decide. we have to be adult enough to realize that a great deal of power resides in profit and that power is, for the moment, working for the average smoker instead of against him. the opposing power, the power of control, is quite capable of using 19's defeat as a mandate to extend prohibition indefinitely. a great deal of good can come out of this proposition and it seems counterproductive to vote it down merely because it isn't perfect.

whos the fucken idiot who said weed is already legalized...haha yeah maybe for me and you because we are medical users ... but what about the rest of the california population... i really think you people are sitting around with your heads up your asses... reguardless of what the law thats going to get passed eventually anyways says... doesnt mean it wont get changed around later on... the fact is right now its only legal for medical patients and decriminalized for the rest of the people... i remember before i was a medical card holder...i was fined 420 dollars in calaveras county and had to show up in court just because i was medicating in the woods where there was litterally no one else around except some fish and game warden beating off to me in the bushes through binoculars up a canyon cliff like a quarter mile away. just my luck . i have anxiety and post traumatic stress created by law enforcement when i was a young teen involving a seperate incident... so really i didnt wanna have to deal with all that shit... because some dumb ass cant vote to legalize it. all of you will have to live in fear of being fined and getting your stash took or even worse if you are growing it ...a felony. no i dont agree with everything the new law states... but you simply are missing the bigger picture here... FUCKEN LEGALIZE IT

FREE CANNABIS TO THE WORLD... DONT BE A JACKASS

oh and you say im selfish for wanting my ounce... umm buddy ill def have more than that reguardless of the law... im a medical user whos allowed to hold up to half a pound. ill take that to court and win again... im just trying to make it right for the rest of you. just because you grow pounds and pounds now and get away with it... doesnt make it right. i am not saying you a criminal because hey i want everyone to grow as much dank as possible... but look where we live and with what laws are already on the books you are already all fucked... just legalize it and make a start... who says the new law is going to stay the same forever... DUH

Exactly, and if we let them take it over in this state it is DONE, for good. Mark my words this will be the "Bill That Killed Cannabis In America". You want to get this rescheduled? You give North Carolina a chance to get this on the ballot. You give the tobacco companies a chance to make a move. They can't do that in this state. They aren't here. They can't get involved unless it's rescheduled.

I know everyone hates tobacco, but they have a trackrecord of fighting the GOVERNMENT for CONSUMERS. You want t get this done. You need someone who can swing the Nation. Somebody that has something to take AWAY from the feds. You don't get your way by giving them what they want. More money created more problems. They need to be learning to manage money, not squander more.

i do see what you are saying but the fines people are paying and the money the governmet is forking out for marijuana offenders and to erradicate a plant that simply cant be erradicated is big biz and thats where the money is... Do you wanna continue this cycle. and for how long. Go sit in a court for a day and listen to the 45% case load created by marijuana users who simply wanna blaze a bowl joint blunt or bong. sorry i dont see your point anymore.
