bullshit. he authored a bill (referenced above) which put the government directly in the business of dictating which lifestyles are acceptable and which are not.

HR 7955 Was from 1980, a young Ron Paul making a statement and trying to get some reforms through, I wouldn't be surprised if that language was required to make the bill even stand a chance, If you read the rest of it you can see that it abolishes government funding to pretty much everything, places that promote homosexuality included among places that promote heterosexuality to be banned from federal funding, even the institution of marriage itself. The bill essentially just flat out eliminates federal funding of social institutions. Ron Paul is anti-federal spending, he is not anti-gay.

That bill was written by Ron in the 1970s. This was before the research that was being done and released in the 80s/early 90s that indicated possible biological links to homosexuality. It is entirely conceivable that Ron's attitude toward homosexuality was changed by the findings of these studies; he is, after all, a doctor by trade and would understand the science/biology behind it. And he does cite in that interview I posted in my previous response to this his "medical background" for not being judgemental about homosexuality.

Additionally, there is a long track record of Dr Paul voting AGAINST his own bills. He proposes them to get the discussion out there, he did this much more frequently in his earlier years.
