So all the snow has almost melted at our place and we now have our usual ponds amongst the property.
Shoots are coming up everywhere and I cannot wait to get more into more gardening.
It is one of my favourite hobbies and brings such peace and tranquility.

I am going to show you my gardens rhoughout the seasons starting with these temporary ponds we have here now.
At least the subpump isn't going off.:?

Friends of ours that live only 15 minutes away got their home flooded out.
Their basement is completel distroyed and there is over $25 000 damage.
Their subpump is going on 24/7 and they are supposed to be going away soon for a vacation.
What a way to start off spring.

There is so much snow melting and so much rain that there is water everywhere.

I am so glad we don't have any of those types of problems.:|

flooded yard temporary pond yea my yard is like that this past bit o rain was rough i am lucky as well, most the water form my field and yard drain into my neighbors back yard across the street. want to dig a pond this year and start collecting all that water and diverting it so it does not leave my yard with 6" of water on it anymore and i can irrigate my big field with the pond water. srry to hear bout your frnd.

I've got a few 'Nature's Ponds' in my back yard too... lol; and luckily no basement flooding. There's still some snow mounds here in there, but def nice to see Spring finally. Except that, there's suppose to be a change in the weather for us coming soon... bummer! But we see snow here in April often and sometimes even in early May.

We have thought about digging a big pond also but it would attract so many bugs and animals.
Luckily we live on high ground so we never have to worry about the house itself.

I would like to have one of those ponds that have the liner. There is a perfect spot on our property that a small cascading waterfall could trickle down to the pond. Then we can put some fishes in there too:mrgreen:
That would be so cute.

Ok I got off topic slightly.

Oh Ya, spring has sprung. There is lots of flooding around here too. Not me though, lol. And my gardens are comin alive. I am starting to see the tips of some of my spring bulbs poking out everywhere. Uncovered some of my bushes, poked around. It is all coming to life. Gotta luv it.:peace:

Hi ww chick. Yes that is exactly how it is here but I am just happy to see some ground and hear the birds singing and stuff. I miss all that so much in the winter months.
And to see all little shoots of flowers to come is just delightful to my eyes.

Eye candy for sure;)

Oh chiceh. I knew you would be as excited about it as me.
Isn't this awesome.
I am loving it. Yes flowering tips are poking their way up through the ground. What a pleasant sight to see.

I have been cleaning up this basement all week long and I find my box of bulbs. I have lots of bulbs and seeds I have not planted yet and can't wait.

I have also taken some of my vegging plants outside for a breath of fresh air. They didn't seem to mind one bit.

Not today. It was too nippy. Burr.
YES!!!! Gotta love it.

Hey chiceh . I have a thread with some of my harvest started. I am attempting to make hash like you did. :-|;)

I forgot tp bring in my tubers this year. I had begonias and lots of dahlias. Sad. But I will just have top replace them. Garden Centre here I come, lol. I want to start some annual seeds for containers all around. And for fillers in the my gardens. The itch is here and it isn't going away, I love gardening. It is my escape, my time alone with the plants and flowers I love. Time to think and reflect on life.:peace:

Ahh what a shame chiceh. I know how you feel. One year I left over 200 canna lily bulbs in the garage over the winter. GAWD just shoot me.:?

Begonias and dahilias. Oh my oh my. :( Now they are precious.
I love all the different types you can get of those but unfortunately they are not perennials here and if you forget to either pull them or store them....you lose them :?

I usually fill in spaces with wave petunias. They grow crazy here. For one of my gardens under a maple tree I put in impatients because it is shady.

Like yourself chiceh...I have gardens everywhere.
My comma doesn't work any more:cry: Life's rough;)
