waiting and waiting

ok i ended with a total of 4 plants after 3 males, and 2 hermies discovered.

I also harvested 2 more broad leaf strains (all bag seed btw) at week 8 of flowering. I am now at week 10 flowering and my last 2 are taking forever to get to a point to even considering a harvest. It's strictly a CFL grow, but I think my lighting is plentiful and spread enough to do it, as it did the trick for the first two...

anyhow, any thoughts on the strains, or how much longer? these buds are pretty fat, but not a lot of trichs really covering. I've dug in and pulled a leaf that I know has trichs on it and all trichs are seeming to be milky looking, but no amber yet...

these two are a LOT more dense than my first two...if that can have anything to do with it.

Man, I been there and done that. It is easy to see that those CFLs are too far away from the buds. And yu need more bulbs or lights. I had hundreds of finger sized buds, with 4 85 watt Spiral CFLs, two STRONG HARSH WHITE and two Soft Cool whites. Then I ran off to Lowes and got 6 42 watts and I put them two inches from my buds and my buds starting doubling in size and growing more buds out of the old buds. Stamens changed color in two days and the clear trichomes became cloudy and beer colored fast too.
Get some mroe lights closer to the buds. SOFT COOL white bulbs that are cream colored.

You need to have the lights within around 2" of the plants.
You can increase ventilation to adjust for any heat probs.
Once you have more light I think you will not have long maybe 2-3 weeks for harvest.
Sativas take forever.
I have 1 sativa and 2 sativa/indica mix's
The more sativa like the plant longer it takes.

you MUST have total darkness for 12 hours to form good yield buds. your plants look fine so it must be light at night. nutes for buds n6/ph10/po20

All signs point to sativa...maybe a haze....what was the bag of weed like that this came from?

I'd say you're looking at 12-14 weeks...especially with CFL. (you'd be tying em up right now because they'd be falling over from weight if you had an HID!)

Man, I had forgot about this post, as nobody responded. But now I got like 5 in one day...so thanks for posting suggestions.

The pictures are more meant to show the plant, and I had moved some of the lights out of the way to get pictures. I know I know...CFL's as close as possible. (it's how I burned into one of the buds).
Yes, this is first grow, and I wanted to try the CFL grow to see what I get, and yes, my second grow will more than likely include an HID, as now I think I have as many CFL's (if not more) than what an HID would require wattage wise, but how is the heat of the HID?.. probably no more than my 18 cfls huh.

Don't remember what the bag was like these came from...as the seeds were AT LEAST 4 years old, and I've smoked a lot since then, but I don't remember saving seeds from a plant I thought was just "alright". I guess in my n00b mind I was thinking "man my first two harvested at 7-8 weeks" so it just seems like a long time to almost double the time. The first two had no problems with trichs...they were COVERED in them...and I had fewer lights on more plants then...

After reading a few posts and forums, I realized I probably had either a strain that takes 12-16 weeks, or a strain that has less THC, and was just "filler" weed for the bag at that date...

But alas, each day I check on them, the trichs are coming in more and more. I noticed more on the lower buds fist, so I'm hoping it working the way up the plant. Both of these plants I have already had to tie up the main colas and even 2 of the side colas on one of them due to weight...so maybe that's a good sign. They are getting thick.

But in any case, I am waiting....(im)patiently.

How many plants to you end up with total? What's your guesstimate of the weight of buds after drying?

I ended up taking 4 fems to flower. 5 plants total, but one turned out to be a f'ing hermie that pollinated some of my true fems...and he/she hid it so well I didn't realize it because I was always looking at the tops of the plants, never thinking of inspecting the undersides if they kept looking good...so yes... learning as I go...

I didn't weigh what I got off my first two plants, but I would guess probably at least an ounce and half. They were like half the size of these though so I would hope I get at least 2-3 oz off these two. that would keep me smoking while my second crop went up
